What is the most striking similarity between Bill Clinton and Asif Ali Zardari? Powerful wives and proven scandals. Clinton is more known for his affair with Monica Lewinsky, while Zardari got his fame from gigantic corruption.

Another similarity is that they both proved disastrous for their wives. Benazir Bhutt’s both terms as a Prime Minister were terminated due to corruption charges, which were attributed to her husband, Asif Ali Zardari. Bill Clinton is proving a distraction in his wife Senator Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Democratic nomination campaign, rather than helping her in the cause.

Asif Ali Zardari provided full fodder for the canons of opposition by amassing fortunes over fortunes and sucked the nation by buying estates and palaces in Europe and by establishing Swiss accounts and by money laundering, while Bill Clinton is is sucking up media attention and dominating the stage in increasingly testy and potentially divisive-for-Democrats public appearances.

A Swiss investigating magistrate has amassed enough evidence, including the purchase of a diamond necklace, to indict Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto and husband on money-laundering charges tied to contracts with two Geneva-based companies.

The Monica Lewinsky scandal was a political-sex scandal emerging from a sexual relationship between United States President Bill Clinton and a then 22-year-old White House intern, Monica Lewinsky. The news of this extra-marital affair and the resulting investigation eventually led to the impeachment of President Clinton in 1998 by the U.S. House of Representatives and his subsequent acquittal on all charges (of perjury and obstruction of justice) in a 21-day Senate trial.
