Zardari is Here to Stay

By Ali Yar Khan • Nov 15th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 9 Comments

All these conspiracy theories about the removal of Asif Ali Zardari, and the new interim setup or the mid term elections are hogwash and only depict the wishful thinking of some journalists and the anchorpersons and PML-N.

If you closely look at the ground realities, why would America and our establishment would want to topple this weak and trapped regime? Who is better than Zardari to serve the purpose which is required now? Musharraf was a great choice, and he performed as he was told, but he lacked democratic cushion, which Zardari has. Popularity, not withstanding, Zardari is the perfect pawn-man for the powers inside and outside the country.

Drone attacks of America, blackwater or marines in different cities of Pakistan, supply lines of NATO, operations in different parts of the country, and other covert activities can only be allowed by the weak and guilty government, and this setup is ideal for that.

All this talk that Zardari would go abroad and in his absence, the army chief will be replaced by someone close to Zardari is rubbish. Because Zardari hasn’t that mettle, and besides he is too clever to do that and also he hasn’t got anyone in the top brass to do duties for him.

The game plan will be that this setup will carry on, drag on. NRO will be delayed and put to dormant rest, but the real powers wouldn’t abolish it to keep a sword over the head of Zardari.

  2. Gossip. Gossip and Gossip to spread unrest in the Illitrate People of this failing country. Who else would be better then Zardari? Unless Military takes over?

  3. Despite all its flaws, democratic government must complete its 5 year term

  4. I would say that for the government. Not Zardari. He’ll stay ONLY if 582b stays with him which he has promised to handover to the parliament (yet again).

  5. Be it Zardari or any one else what difference would it make?there is not any difference when Musharraf was in power or now Zardari is in office.Even if he is ousted plight of nation will not be heard and vested interests will reign supreme.

  6. @ 2Gossip. Gossip and Gossip to spread unrest in the Illitrate People of this failing country.
If it is a failing country n people r illiterate why are u so bothered about it?reading Pakistani blogs n then commenting on them in much illiterate manner than illiterate people of Pakistan.Infact u r the biggest illiterate of all.Like Jai Ho, Peer khan dont bother urself wth reading about Pakistan. It shows how interested u r in Pakistan n the hatred u have in urself for Pakistan.Just keep ur sarcastic comments to urself. No one needs u here ok..so just BUZZ OFF

  7. The wishes of few anchors and journalists are definitely incorrigible. They have become a party and working as opposition team. Media is supposed to be a mirror of society which depicts real issues of masses but unfortunately few channels are spreading chaos amongst people. Media trail continues and is only for President Zardari. When Pakistan is required unity, media is using its potency in ruthless activities and strengthening enemies of Pakistan! President Zardari is duly, democratically and constitutional president and government should complete its tenure.
