fools forget the history and wise learns from the history. This is in 1973’s constitution, after declaring the Qadianis non-muslim that only Muslims can hold the PM and President offices. If one remember then it is true that Pakistan was made for the name of Islam but not for only Muslims. Quaid-e-Azam always said that minorities will also have freedom of their religion in Pakistan as Muslims have. The mullah party always try to hijack the good things. They have objection upon the removal of religion section in the passport, they even had objected on Allama Iqbal on his famous poem SHIKWA and they declare him Kafir by FATWA but when the wise poet wrote Jawab-e-Shikwa then those poor Mullas understand what Iqbal meant to say.

I will definately vote for a person who is eligible and deserving for either PM or President of Pakistan whether he/she is Muslim or non-Muslim. The matter which I care and I think the people of Pakistan should care about is that does he/she care abt the country???

I would rather vote for such a person. Don’t we have Muslims living abroad in non-Muslim countries who vote there? Aren’t their rights well protected, more than they could even imagine if they were living in Pakistan. The thing is, take a man for what he is in person, and not for what religion he belongs to. We’ve had our Muslim leaders who couldn’t protect our right nor fulfilled their duties, what good were they? A hypocrite can always do you more damage. Yes I would vote for the honest and loyal non-Muslim PM.

This article was printed when Dr Manmohan Singh was elected the Prime Minister of India.

It said “Where in the world will you see a Christian lady (Mrs Sonia Gandhi) leaving the post for a Sikh Gentleman (Dr Manmohan Singh) who was given oath for the office by a Muslim President (Dr Abdul Kalam) to lead a nation which consists of 84% Hindus. This is a true democracy”

To be very frank with you. I see these people as great individuals and not associate with their religion. Thankfully they are there becoz majority of Indians think like that.

If the candidate is an honest one and will do good for this country then i would not give a rats ass what religion he is. Pakistan was made for the people who wanted to live here… as the Qaid said in his famous speech, all minorities have their rights and among them should be the right to political office.

We have had muslim PM’S so far…. we all know how pure they have been!

Interesting question!
Looking at the situation here in the US, Presidential Candidate Mint Romney, a Christian, is facing a lot of questions about his Mormon denomination. Most Christians see Mormons with suspicion similar to the way Pakistanis question the Qadiani beliefs. It’s also not clear if the US is ready for a woman or Black president yet. Bill Richardson, a Hispanic has already dropped out.
Personally, I would consider voting for a non-Muslim PM in Pakistan, if the person (he or she) appears more qualified and competent than opponents. However, I really doubt if such a person would be favored by others. Typically, our democratically elected leaders come from the feudal class and there are no non-Muslim feudals that I can see in Pakistan.
