Will the Election Day Triggers a Start of Countdown for the President?
By Farid Masood • Feb 18th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics, Worth A Second Look • One ResponseWe should not set forth our expectations for a party or an alliance to do the clean sweep in elections 2008 nor any party or alliance will be able to form a government in the center. If the results are the same as I mentioned there are two reasons for it.
First, the mixed point of view persists contemporarily (as I have mentioned in my earlier articles). Second, a hung parliament is in the favour of the President. He will be happy to control a wayward crowd with a stick of his own. It is expected that chances of wining of Independents candidates from some of the constituencies. This result will add more points towards a mix representation of political parties in the central government.
But think for a moment if a single party or a coalition wins the seats to form the government in the center then will it trigger the impeachment of the President at any stage (sooner or later)? Will it be in the interest of the country? Will this be an element of a major change in the center, a change, which is inevitable for the progress of the country and off-course the democracy?
