Wife Loving Nawaz Sharif

By Gul Raiz • Jul 14th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 14 Comments

Respected Madam Kulsoon Nawaz is seriously ill and is currently hospitalized in London, and I wholeheartedly pray and wish for her good health and also wish that she gets well soon. That, and then I wonder that whether her post-disease tending by her faithful husband Nawaz Sharif is genuine or has it got some political aspects too.

Though it’s also a well known and proven fact that every step and every move by a politician has some political implication, and even if a politician takes a bath, he first weighs it against his political odds, and so this long stay of Nawaz Sharif in London just to take care of his wife is not wholly digestible to me.

Nawaz Sharif , by many neutral surveys, is the most popular leader in the country, like it or not and he is considered, after the late Benazir Bhutto the only leader of the national outreach and in these dire times in the country when two provinces NWFP and Balochistan are on fire and the biggest cities of Punjab and Sindh are rocking with suicide attacks and bomb  blasts and the economy is on it’s knees, such a long stay outside the country by the country’s most popular leader becomes almost equivalent to the crime.

Well, for mere mortals like me and you, tending the wife may be the life’s biggest task the world’s biggest worry for us, but leaders live and die for the people they lead, and absence of Nawaz Sharif from his people is not comprehensible. He could be replaced by Hussain Nawaz or Maryam Nawaz or Captain (r) Safdar, but he must not act so callously in these crunch times.

    Gul,

The proper action you could do is to make a prayer for the wife of Nawaz Sharif and her family than to start criticizing what Nawaz Sharif should be doing. It is apparent that you are clueless of human nature and lack empathy for those that are suffering.

Think before you start writing on the next subject, and filling space on TPS.

I find interesting that a lot of writers here on TPS start subjects but fail to even respond or interact with readers that do make an effort to respond. It is a waste of time for me even to write these words.

I will be taking leave from this site due to my own health situation. I wish you all well and may God help you and Pakistan.

    All the best!.

Dr. Sahib, forgive Gul Raiz he and many like him get carried away. You are absolutely right political diffenrences are different from personal agonies and hardships; we are all humans first and then anything else. I sincerely, pray for Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom’s complete and speedy recovery. May Allah grant her health and long happy life in the company of her family.

Plaese, don’t let Gul Raiz’s attitude chase you away from visiting us here; your company is great and enriches us.

im not a pml (n) voter as yet but i see loyalty in this party too for pakistan. when i put myself in his shoes i think it’s foolish to criticize someone who is out of power. nawaz is with his hospitalized wife in london, he has the right to; what exactly is he supposed to do in pakistan at present? his stance is crystal clear, his party is constantly fighting for the supremacy of the law in the country and somehow still in the coalition. great efforts i see. pml (n) leadership is not in the position to save the country, people have given the helm of the ship to their wise cream leadership. people have trusted someone else, now face it.

by the way, which wh**e is the prime minister of pakistan attending in dubai? and which p*mp has sherry rehman went to look for in dubai?

i don’t know when it happens, of course if it does, but this time my vote will be for either pml (n) or tehreek-e-insaf. I DO WANT TO CHANGE THE GOD DAMN SYSTEM.

Dr. Alshaer, I wonder that have you really read my article? I haven’t done, what you have implied in you response. I would urge you to read the article once again, and if you are short on time, just read the first paragraph:

“Respected Madam Kulsoon Nawaz is seriously ill and is currently hospitalized in London, and I wholeheartedly pray and wish for her good health and also wish that she gets well soon. That, and then I wonder that whether her post-disease tending by her faithful husband Nawaz Sharif is genuine or has it got some political aspects too.”

    dr alshaer Says:

    Gul Sahib,

I did read the article; from start to finish. You made a lot of statements and the essence being that how can a man like Nawaz Sharif be tending to his wife, when he has other family members that can look after his wife. The key here is the ultimate message that you were trying to deliver from the article that Nawaz Sharif is needed in Pakistan and not be tending to the care of his wife. Certainly, I am sure you are a caring person and did not mean ill by your statements, even though that was the outcome from the message that you delivered.

Please reflect and think of how words impact others. We certainly cannot judge your intentions, for you and God alone know what were going on within your being at the time you wrote those words. What we can see, is the end result of your actions. Though, you may have meant well, the end result was lost by the delivery of the words in the article.

I do not think myself better than you or anyone else. You touched a raw nerve with me of how insensitive people can become when others are going through difficult times. This is what brought me to even respond to you. We need to be respectful of those that are going through trials and tribulations. The reminder was not only for you but more so to myself.

I consider you and every Pakistani my “family”. Though I am not living in Pakistan, I am very much concerned of the trials my “family” is going through back home. Just like in any “family” not everyone sees eye to eye and differences exist. When it comes to one of our “family” members going through health, financial or whatever the problem may be, the “family” comes together.

My words may be just “fine and dandy” ideas but they come from my heart. So many Pakistanis here in the West are all praying for the nation to come together. We need to stress on what binds us, not focus on what will further separate our nation.

You all are in my prayers.

    dr alshaer Says:

Aftab Bhai, thank you for your reminder. I do not hold things for too long within my heart. I am sure Gul meant well but delivery came out otherwise.

I am just busy with some health issues these days. I have no intention to leave this site. I certainly enjoy reading what others have to share… no matter if I may disagree with them…:)

I hope and your family are well.

    Best regards

    Aftab S. Alam Says:

Stay on top of all the issues and God willing all will fine. You must be bigger than the issues.

Like I have tried to explain my position : “political diffenrences are different from personal agonies and hardships; we are all humans first and then anything else.”

    Gul Raiz Says:

Respected all, I certainly didn’t mean to degrade human sentiments. Yes, my take is that Nawaz Sharif must be in country, because for a national leader people must come first rather than family. He has spent enough time in London, and now he should be back as country needs him. That was my point.

Respected Dr. Alshaer, I am also praying for your health.

    Saleem Khan Says:

    Gul Raiz sahab,

No doubt Pakistan needs leaders in country but I think family must come first also. Nawaz Sharif is not holding centre of command as Zardari is having because prime minister has to talk to Zardair for every issue, not to nawaz sharif. Shahbaz sharif is CM of Punjab but he is doing his duties in prefect manner even Nawaz Sharif is out of country.

Zardari should be in country or should give authority to PM for running government. Zardari layed on Gave of BB for 40 days when PPP required him to run Election campaign…and now when PPP again needs him for decision making, he runs out of country. What kind of strategy it is. His pre and post actions has severely damaged party position in country.

It is pre and post election time.

    dr alshaer Says:

    Gul Sahib,

I do understand and I appreciate you sharing some more views on this subject. Personally, I doubt that NS will have any impact, even he was in the country. For now, his place is next to his wife.

Thank you also for your prayers.

    Regards

    Aftab S. Alam Says:

Gul Raiz, if a person is not sincere enough to be close to even his own family when in need; what does it say about such an individual? would you feel comfortable seeing him in a position of power - frankly, for me such an individual is too cold to feel anything about the people he represents / leads.
