Why Zardari Got Tough with Musharraf?
By Fatima Tassaduq • May 24th, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • (3,150 views) • 6 CommentsThis shouldn’t be surprising, as now Asif Ali Zardari, the accidental chairman of Pakistan People’s Party has gotten tough with the President General (r) Pervez Musharraf. Both of them have no love lost between them, and they still hate each other profusely. It was just the coinciding of the mutual vested interests and the pressure from the United States that has brought them together.
Now as Asif Zardari has been blessed with the National Reconciliation Ordinance and now he has got nothing to fear and now he can enjoy the enormous wealth accumulated by him and his late wife Benazir Bhutto. He could just go abroad and live happily with his family everafter.
Zardari has got nothing to lose, and he knows that these are twilight days for the party hatched by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The party hinged around Bhutto name, and now as now Bhutto is in sight to come at the helm of the affairs of the party, it is doomed and it is the last time, party is seeing the glory, and Zardari knows that fully.
Zardari has cleaned himself with the sacred water of NRO and has given new life to Musharraf and the has negated the mandate given by the people, and he has dealt with Americans at their terms. He has got nothing to loose. He can afford to talk tough and he can afford to just bolt. He can afford to go in the direction opposite to the directions of the people.
So he can any thing to anyone.

Dear writer! Zardari needed better treatment from you. There are always two sides of a coin. Yes, he got benefitted by NRO but can we remember how many years he had been behind the bar and how he was treated when in prison for eight long years? I am not fan of A.A.Z but if he has started talking of the people, lets encourage him.

Ms. Tassaduq,
Let me remind you that the death of BB was not an accident but it was a calculated, well planned and cold blooded murder executed by Musharaf and his henchmen. Asif’s ascendency to PPP chairmanship was also not an accident but it was very calculated, well thought out and planned move by BB herself. PPP has no dearth of qualified leadership but after the death of BB, they were in dire need to have someone as a leader who not only keep the party from disintegrating from within but has the balls and shrewdness to stand up to the wheelers and dealers of establishment, and it was none other than Asif. NRO has proved to be more beneficial to Musharaf than Asif since he is shown a route to make his exit through NRO, though he’s still trying to gain more. Asif was already enjoying his wealth and living comfortably overseas before NRO and he can still choose to do the same, but one thing is certain that when going got tough he proved his mettle and resolve through incarceration and torture, so please do not belittle that fact.

Martial Law, Martial Law, Martial Law!
People starts waiting for one more Marial-Law now. These politicians are of no use to them and every time they let them down.
Zardari was making drama until he got acquitted from his last case. And now he thinks that he could do anything whatever he likes. He made fool to so many (including me) but he is not a sincere man he was never. Can a habitual theif would ever be a sincere person???
He is trying to act over smart now. But didn’t know a petition is in the SC for the NRO and it could be open anytime and NRO would then be cancelled. What will happen to this stupid Zardari then every Pakistani knows!!

I can simply laugh on your mentality.

you are forgetting dear… you have already given this Zardari medal that he is very wise and nice person. So its better to keep stick to that point.
As far your wording “A person who had never thought of coming back to Pakistan in his life time was made possible by Musharraf only and now he turned his back towards him.”…. please go few years back in Past… Nawaz Sharif bringed Musharraf after crossing senior generals and what Mushi did with him is also reality. Its politics dear and you should digest what ever is happening with Mushi.
