Why They Cannot Even Secure Little Mall Road of Rawalpindi?

It beats me, it certainly beats me. It is clear that the terrorists’ favorite target is different buildings situated at the Mall road. Even the side of Mall Road, which is at the side of GHQ is the one which is the prime target of suicide attacks and bomb blasts.

There are 4 traffic signals and 4 roads which go into the GHQ side of the Mall Road. Though the Mall Road is longer than that, and other traffic signals like Chaur Chowk, Chairing Cross and Pir Wadai Mor are also critical, but the ones which are situated within the Saddar area of Rawalpindi, near to MH, GPO, Church and PC hotel are the main points.

Multiple, many suicide attacks and bomb blasts have occurred on this patch of the Mall Road. Why is it so? There are some criss cross barricades and police check posts, but that’s foolish to think that they are useful to stop the terrorism.

Terrorists have to be stopped through intelligence and modern gadgetry. It’s time that scanners should be erected at the entrance and exit points of the Mall Road. Cameras, sniffers should be placed. It would be feasible to make the Mall Road a signal free corridor. Above all, it’s time that military should relocate it’s head quarters from this area and go to Islambad’s E sector.

  1. Its little but its crowded. Thousands of vehicles pass daily and its impractical to check every vehicle, but yes scanners are a good idea
