How many of you have seen Godzilla? I can still recall the scene where the French spy was distributing weapons and uniforms of the American army among his fellow Frenchmen. He also gave chewing gums to every soldier. So that they appear hip or cool or fly
Yes, that’s what we all have learn from Hollywood. That American action heroes and war veterans are fearless and valiant. Bruce Willis despite being a regular LAPD cop can hunt down international terrorists in the most crucial of the situations and at the same time can be so hip and utter cool dialogues like, ‘Yippi kai yeh’. In this media controlled world that we are living in perception has a wider and unfathomable effect then ground reality.
n 2006 a movie by the name ‘Rang De Basanti’ was released in India. The plot revolved around a group of friends and how they transformed in to the characters they were impersonating. Now we all know that Indian ideology revolves around Gandhi. But this film promoted Bhagat Singh’s version of justice. This was not only violent for some but absolutely opposite of the teachings of the peaceful Indian Mahatama. So after the huge success of the movie a new debate started among Indians that what should be the path to follow. Of course hardly anyone in any country follows the teachings of their Prophets, heroes, leaders as much as they claim. But even then they have some ideology which they pretend that they are following. Like every party by the name Muslim League in Pakistan claim that they are the party of the Quaid. (Just for the record there are more then 5 in total.)
Coming back to Rang De Basanti; the group of friends in the movie avenges the tragic death of their pilot friend and murders the defense minister (who was involved in the corruption scandal which led to the pilot’s death). This movie raised an imperative question that if someone as influential as a minister is involved in a murder or mass murdering and the system or Judiciary fails to punish that influential criminal then what should be done. Should the Janta, awaam or the people take the law into their own hands and award judgments on the streets?
But that was only a movie. Films are there to entertain you and make you feel good. They don’t tell you how to change the course of your lives. They might create an impression though; at the end of every feel good movie everything goes to superfine. The bad guy meets his catastrophic end and the good guys gets justice or the girl next door . But we all know in the real world the bad guy usually wins or goes unharmed. Like in Narrendra Modi’s case he won a phenomenal victory despite the genocide that was carried out under his tree. This is amazing, blame congress and Sonia Gandhi but somebody voted for him and they didn’t care much about the innocent killings.
So the fact remains that how big the crime be, if people like Modi or Bush play their cards well. Everything is possible, I am sure Adolph Hitler must be feeling quite over rated for his sins rite now.
Note: I previously wrote about Modi here

his role as a religious terrorist is quite evident but not proven..!!
Narendra Modi is often potrayed as a bigoted despot, ordering pogroms agaisnt people he doesn’t like. If he is, there is no evidence to show it. What the evidence does seem to show is that Sangh Parivar activists, enraged by the Godhra incident, began a senseless orgy of violence as an attempt to punish the “perpetrators” of the Godhra riots. What Modi did was sat by and watched. This may not be because he agreed with the rioters, or he because he believed that the Muslims of Gujarat needed to be “taught a lesson”. It is probably because he realised that the people who were rioting were his supporters, and that he did not want to antagonise them. It may even be that his motives were good, that he had a vision for his state that he did not want to derail by being needlessly (in his mind) severe on his supporters. But the fact is, that in 2002, Narendra Modi had a choice: do the right thing or stay in office. For whatever reason, he chose the latter, and three thousand people died as a result.
You have got it right to the last T. Nothing can vindicate what happened in Gujrat or Delhi. No excuses Gentlemen.
And Ammar, You are great and very touche. I like your words. This is I guess your first article at awesome TPS, that means we will be having more from you. Thats good too.
Narendra Modi the current Chief Minister of Gujrat may not be liked by many but he is praised by some. So what is wrong to have a chief minister like him, he is one of the strong BJP leader he is known for his hindutva ideology. One thing he forgets is he lives in a secular country where every religion are same and all citizens irrespective of their religious background should be treated equally. He is believed to be biased in the Godhra incidence and most of the countries cannot digest the fact a leader with such power should be biased to any religion of caste and community. He has been denied Visa to USA, UK and many other countries also have the same opinion. But you see his positive side he is a great leader for his party, he is good orator and BJP keeps him as a star campaigner for most of elections. he has done well for the party he has brough lot of success to the party in some of the elections especially in Gujrat. He has developed the state and most of the MNC still feel safe to invest in their state. In a current visit to Israel which is one of the rare country invited him, he could impress the people with his speech and made them believe that they should invest in his state Gujrat. Like any individual he also has his good and bad qualities but would you like him to be your CM and go for development or go for internal law and order problems and ocassionaly religious riots.
On occasion one gets the feeling that some of your posts are inspired by the Howard Stern school of literary and journalistic thought.
someone once said, ‘The principle that you shouldn’t do the right thing once unless you do the right thing everytime is one impossible to uphold.’
Of course Gandhi in South Africa was quite as shameful as that horrendous period in human history when a bunch of foreign countries ganged up against Hitler just because he was discriminating against jews in his own homeland.
Narendra modi is a very very inteligent people in the world.
He Know About all Situation , and what he will be react.
we knew godhra kand and there after handling with only one hand.
i proude of narendra modi.
i think he will be a prime minister.
I think that Narendra Modi is the only intelligent and action oriented CM in India.Look at what the other people(politicians) did after the blasts.Did any one address the situation as to how to tackle the terrorists. What should we do to eliminate the terrorism. It is only Narendra Modi who has said in Mumbai that the terrorists have to be eliminated no matter what because they are against humanity and have no religion.Did any other leader dare to say this truth?Inspite of knowing which country is behind the nurturing of terrorism our government is not even mentioning of any action to be taken against the country. It is shameful that the govt has no concern of its citizens being killed everyday in so many terrorists attacks and if the present situation continues the attacks will continue. We need an action oriented PM like Narendra Modi who dares to say the truth. We are proud of him.
In respons to Venkat,
I hope Narendra is not your father ,because if you know about all the bad things he did in gujrat then you would’t support him for be a Prime Minister so don’t close your eyes, thank God that the inocents women raped and killed were not your sisters, mother or wife. But then you are Hindu (as the name suggests), you dont have to fear him.
People started to think that only Muslims are after Modi. Then, who is Solanki?? Whos Keshubhai Patel??? There are many Hindus who are against Modi..!! Its not the question of Hindu-Muslim, but its Humanity all that matters
Modi has achieved what he wanted to achieve by mudering, looting and raping thousands of Muslims.
As long as we do not realize and keep separating people and dividing them into catagories of religion caste and creed people like Modi will continue to take advantage of the situation and use it to their gain. I do not blame him for the killing in Gujrat. I blame the people who followed his senseless order without realizing what they were doing. Each human among us has their own brain, why not stop and think for a second?
