Where Would I Live? Asks Musharraf

By Ali Yar Khan • Aug 15th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 15 Comments • Email This Post Email This Post

As the establishment has whispered in his ear that it’s time to quit Mr. President, and as George W. Bush has also lifted his support off of the military dictator, and the support from the King’s Party has also cooled off, Musharraf has left with very little options, and now he is merely pondering as where to live his rest of life after he is dragged out of the President House.

General (r) Pervez Musharraf wants to live in Chak Shehzad, a posh area in the suburbs of Islamabad bordering the city of Rawalpindi, but the establishment wants him to leave the country, as it would keep the lid on many things, and it would also save the hassle of providing security to the former president.

Abroad Musharraf has three choices: Turkey, United States (Chicago) and South of Spain. Of all these three Turkey seems to be the best option because United States doesn’t welcome the spent-away dictators and they don’t really like to support the liabilities and decaying fossils. Spanish soil on the Souther coast has the properties of Chaudharies of Gujrat and Sheikh of Rawalpindi, and why would both of them keep Musharraf to put a consistent question mark on their political endevours?

  1. Keep obsessing with the thought of removing Musharraf and where he will live thereafter, while the looters and thugs who are running the country disintegrate paskitan!

Nawaz, Pakistan cannot go along: Benazir

    Friday, August 15, 2008
    Karachi, August 15, 1998

Addressing a large crowd at the Nishter Park on Friday, Leader of the Opposition Benazir Bhutto declared that Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan cannot go along and, therefore, he should resign or face sacking.

“On this 51st Independence Day this mammoth rally is the verdict of the citizens of Karachi that Nawaz Sharif should step down to pave way for interim national government. People do not want the government which cannot protect their life, property and honour or run the affairs of the country smoothly,” Benazir declared. She said 51 years ago, this country was achieved by the Muslims to spend their lives in peace with honour, with all the basic facilities available and with a stable economy. “Unfortunately, when we look around today we see that was achieved because the vested interests never gave any weight to the opinion of masses,” she remarked. The 16-party alliance, the Pakistan Awami Ittehad (PAI), headed by Allama Tahirul Qadri, failed to attract big crowds despite large presence of supporters from rural Sindh. Although, the show was mainly organised by Dr Tahir’s party, it was dominated by the PPP.

Benazir said that Nawaz Sharif had disappointed the people of Pakistan as the price hike is reaching an unbearable point, unemployment is high and killings are routine. She said that Nawaz Sharif conspired with Leghari and ousted the PPP government because it was working for the people, to elevate their standard of life and to make the economy stable. She said that in this regime, even the men-in-uniform are not safe. “People want peace and the PAI will get them peace,” he said.

“The dictatorial decisions of Ayub, Yahya, Zia and his political heirs brought the country to this stage where it faces internal and external threats,” Benazir remarked. She said that Pakistan is isolated on the international arena and those claiming of breaking of Kashkol and achieving self-reliance are visiting various countries to get grants and loans.

  3. If he thinks he hasn’t done any wrong, as he says so often then he should surrender himself to accountability. Does NRO work here too?

  4. Why we all worry so much about Mr. Pervez Musharaff, he will find his way. He is more than welcome to stay with us. It’s not really a concern for every Lallo Phatto. I am more concern about 16 crore awam, do they have any way out of current situation in Pakistan ?

  5. Aashiq e Musharaf

Eik Sheer Arz hai, on your hot blooded emotions, and love for Pervez Musharaf; Arz kia hai :

Barh gia manzil e maqsood say bhi aagay Saleh
Bekhudi tugh ko kahan khainch kay lay aye hai

  6. Why people are wasting time on nonsense about Musharraf’s outgoings or his final destination. Believe me, he is not going anywhere

  7. First I made it clear that chak shezad was an ordinary farm area before mush regime and it was rich in supply of vegetables and fruits to isl/ pindi area but army and land mafia has converted this area as luxurious resorts and promoted shortages of food supply in worst standards to ordianry citizens of pindi/ Islamabad and developed a culture of artificial feudal class in working class of capital. We can also say that such farms promoted evil culture in the neat environment .Mush can surely opt to live in such “aish kadas “as it is his nature but his close retired generals is claiming in different circles that all preparation has done for his turkey settlement but he is not willing to accept it as they are not providing him 18 cars security package to him as they cant afford it and secondly Pak govt is not willing to bear his high security charges any more which is alomost 2.5 crore rs per day .So lets see who would accept this white elephant that has become burden for all friends and foes.

  8. How “nice” Nazia is back - we all must be prepared to suffer her diatribes one more time in addition to the disinformation she provides to pollute a, otherwise, clean discussion environment ! ! !

  9. If you live in crystal house then everything looks you clean and pollution free and that is what actually happening here. If any body didnt visit the filthy streets of poor cities of Pakistan in such rainy seasons then what can I say to them. People are living in garbage ,sewage water, wastes and our rulers are living in 2.5 crore per day security plan so in such circumstances I hope mr clean of this forum would sell pollution free dreams to our people of living in heaven like country where all is going the best as Nero is still playing his flute till all Pakistan would burn down as this is his motto Pakistan first and then me and me and me only.

  10. There she goes! Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you!

No, who is this “mr claen” you are referring to Nazia? and who is this “me and me and me only” ?

  11. Saeed Khan,

I am not Aashique of Musharraf by birth but our selfish, hypocrites and characterless politcians like Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Benazir, Zardari, Qazi Hussain, Imran Khan, Hameed Gul, Aitazaz Hussain, Khar and hundreds more alike has made me Aashique of Musharraf and believe me you will find millions and millions Pakistanis like me everywhere.

Don’t go to malicious propaganda campaigns run by electronic and print media against the President especially run by Geo, ARY, AAJ etc. Also don’t go on fabricated surveys.
General public in Pakistan still remembers the golden days of Pakistan pre March 2007.

Look an example of falsified survey that 70% of Pakistanis believed that Musharraf is the assasinator of BB but I have been to many places in Pakistan and it is very common and everyone from Taxi Drivers to the Business men I heard them saying that Zardari and MS Rehman were involved in the murder of BB and they soon going to get married.

Look at the difference between so called surveys and the general public opinion.

  12. Bus karo bus, Geo aur jeenay do.

  13. Aashique,

Where are you getting these surveys from? Everyone knows in Pakistan surveys mean nothing.

As to the other rumors, well, they are just rumors. We have writers in the West, like Ron Suskind, that are also propelling rumors. Suskind also missed the mark on the real culprit for the demise of BB.

I got a good laugh out of the rumor of Zardari and Ms. Rahman. Was not Yousaf Raza Gilani flirting with Sherri before the elections? What is going on with folks in Islamabad, now they are getting into orgies?

President Musharraf should rejoice, if indeed he is leaving office. He is always welcome to come here to the States and I will take him on my sailboat and we can enjoy some good Cuban cigars together.

    Regards

  14. Nazia, welcome back, and Mr. Aftab yes “Geo or genay do”. You should tell us your point of view and not try to act like a wasp.

  15. dralshaer, go stick that cigar where the moon does not shine. Down with Mush! He needs to be hanged for the crimes to Pakistanis.
