What Was Going on in the Marriott Hotel?

By Ali Yar Khan • Sep 21st, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 29 Comments

Marriott Hotel has now become a ghost house which was yesterday the most beautiful and prestigious hotels in the Islamabad. While the condemnation of the blasts and the deaths and the loss of property is going on from all the quarters, some intriguing news is also pouring in.

After the blast, mysteriously fire was started at the fourth and fifth flours. It was said that this fire was the result of gas pipeline burst running through the hotel. The million dollar question is that was the gas pipeline not running through the other flours? Why the fire broke out from the fourth and fifth flours? That is the question which perhaps holds the key to the mystery as why the hotel was targeted yesterday, in which more than 60 people died including many foreigners.

Though it would never get confirmed but the fire on the fifth and fouth flour of the hotel broke out because those flours were housing the mysterious steel boxes under the heavy guard of United States marines and no one including the Pakistani security forces and the security men of the hotel were allowed to go near with the them. These boxes were shifted inside the hotel when the Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad.

It is said that one member of parliament Mumtaz Alam who belongs to the PPP, the ruling party was there eye witnessed the whole scene when the white truck of US embassy came to the gate of Marriot Hotel and US marines themselves unloaded the steel boxes from the trucks and shifted them to the fourth and fifth flours without passing through them the scanners at the entrance of the hotels. When the truck was there, all the entrance and the exit passage way to the hotels were closed.

And now this blast has occurred at the Marriott, while that mysterious activity was going on.

  1. Mr. Ali yar khan kindly keep your one million question in your pocket to get it change with few obsolete coins.

Please do not try to malign or intrude your exciting and speculating thoughts as questionnaire, so to achieve few insane comments of hatred against America or Pakistani governance.

It is not at all an event that should raise and exploit irrelevant exploiting notes.

The Act is a ferocious and dismantling episode to be condemned to the limit of reach.

Whoever whether it be a foreigner or national , had sustained or awarded deliberate death due to this human induced massacre, is highly condemnable and we pay condolence to all national, foreigners, dignitaries and functionaries in any form and format of their services ,as piece of condemning note of gesture ,that at the height of such an eventful episode of disaster we are standing with them so to mourn the sacrifice as per their belonging as nation and we condemn every such elements that are harvesting the theme of crime deliberately utilizing the domain of principality of practices .

As to your inquisition affair of questionnaire to divert some insane thoughts towards self ascertained conclusion ,let me say that nothing as some serious ailment could be transferred or be kept but within the “Standing Operative Procedure “as and per sensitivity to the hotel.

Military move internationally is always under the cordon and restricted domain of “SOP’s”.

Please stop exploiting irrationally to create some element of perhaps secrecy on the issue.

  2. I am simply amazed that there was no sprinkler system or other fire systems to save the hotel. Really it is a big question. Our govt never impose strict regulations to ensure these basic systems for any building. Who gives price…. poor people of that building or who lives there.

i am looking for evidence of compassion.
    any evidence of life.
    i am looking for life.”

  5. Why there is always a fly in our soup?

  6. This attack is unique and different from the previous attacks and it was thoroughly planned and executed to gain some more objectives rather than just to terrorize. Ali Yar Khan may have a point there.

  7. CDA was a failure in coping with this disaster and where was the disaster management cell established by Musharraf which he also boasted in his swan song?

  8. As some of them here say, the steel boxes contained Indian RAW personnel who cut and lit up the gas connection ONLY in 4th and 5th floor.
The Truck exp;oded outside but HOW THE HOTEL CAUGHT FIRE AND ALMOST TOTALY DESTORYED?
How the home minister knew that ONE TON of explosives was inside the truck? Mind you not 500kg not 5 tons but one ton?
Is some SOP is involved here?
Ask journalist brother Imitiaz gillani of the MNA

  9. Johann, RAW is involved alright in this terrorist activity, and now just wait for the retaliation.

  10. I absolutely agree with Zaman Sher, RAW is involved in all this. Bloody India has no work other than plotting against Pakistan.

  11. we are not afraid and we live like nothing really matters to us.
Almost every country faces these types of terrorist attacks. Pakistan is a country who fights war against the terrorism.

  12. It was certainly the 9/11 of Pakistan. Enough is enough.

  13. 61 years of enimosty,
Time to pay back India Pakistan,
Every single disaster in India Pakistan and Afghanistan is linked to root problem of Kashmir and failed evil policies of Pandit Nehru and Nehru dynasty. Burn in hell Nehru and Indira Feroz Gandhi.
God forgive us, the people of saray jahan say accha Hindustan Hamara.
    bless our sub continent.
I guess it’s not too late

  14. Just imagine if Kashmir Problem was solved, and India Pakistan were peaceful, friendly nations. We had none of the these problems:
    Fights over Kashmir
Khalistan Movement and Golden Temple Distruction
    Enimosty over East Pakistan
    USSR invasion of Afghanistan
arriaval of USA influance in Area
    Mujahedeen, Taliban, Al Qaida
    9/11 attack
    Johnny came lately
Bomb Blasts and terrorist attacks in India Pakistan
Billions spend on military might, and not education or economic development
Dangerously equiped with Atomic War Fare
Hundreds of Thousands lost their lives
Creating Over one and a half Billion Hatemongers in India Pakistan and Afghanistan
Religious Hindu Muslim extremist Political Parties and groups.
Living under constant threat of war, with Atomic fear.
Extremly Foolish and self destroying Philosophy.
For some people it’s like a Friendly Cricket Matches between India and Pakistan. So unfortunate and sad.
    People Wake up.
    United we Stand

  15. Everything that goes wrong in India they point their fingers to us and blame ISI and as ‘quid pro quo’ we do the same when hit and hurt and make RAW the culprit here. However, we go a step further and let our fantacies go bit wilder and stretch our imagination a little more and come up with even greater ‘alliance’ or ‘alliances’ of many many ‘perceived’ enemies working against our interest and our integrity and in this process either by mistake or design decide to ignore the obvious culprits - our very own ‘home grown’ haters of our own country and system. I am amazed by our ability to be so naive or is it our gullibility to believe that this and all such terrorism inflicted upon us is handywork of the same people who have been ‘proudly’ taking credit for their dastardly acts against the people of Pakistan. It is time that we ‘call a spade a spade’. This is just another attempt to cow us into their agenda of ‘Talabization’ of our country and force their ideology down our throats. Choice is ours, either stand up against these sickos or just be spectators of our systematic destruction.

  16. Millitancy and extremism do exist in Pakistan with or without the help of India. Blaming India for it is just passing the buck. We should address this issue more seriously than we are currently doing. Currently our politicians seem more concerned about who should and how should Punjab be ruled than this issue.

Ali Yar Khan has asked a pertinent question which needs to be looking in to. There may be no truth in this but we must look into it since someone has made a categorical statement in this regard.

  17. Gharoun ko kab fursat hey dukh dainey ki
Jab Hota hai; koee apna humdum hota hey

India no doubt would like to see us go down. After all India has got more than six consulates working right across Pak- Afghan border; and working for what?

But we need not to go across border to get to the culprits. Get hold of NWFP main political party JUI; Put them under military rubbing; they may tell you how Tehrik e Taliban was founded on their behest while they were in power in NWFP for last five years. And how they received the hefty funding from CIA and India to equip this force?

Tehrik e Taliban was sanctioned many; non- jam able powerful FM radios station, provided to them by CIA. These FM stations cannot be jammed even now!

Why after all; we do not hear a condemnation of such like attacks by Fazulur of JUI and Jamait Islami?

  20. It is time that we ‘call a spade a spade’. This is just another attempt to cow us into their agenda of ‘Talabization’ of our country and force their ideology down our throats. Choice is ours, either stand up against these sickos or just be spectators of our systematic destruction.

well said Aftab and Dr Raza Haider, Johann, Kabir, Ibne Idirfa

    Dear Friends,
It’s about time we wake up to this dreadful reality to eradicate those elements that exists as talibans, and all those support mechanisms which were created for a particular need or requirement at behest of someone or us- the JUIs and the Fazlurs of the Pakistan which have contributed towards our downfall. . The may have served someone else’s purpose and theirs but not ours. We live in a dream world..a world created out of misconceptions, conspiracies and the list goes on…

The loss of life is dreadful and the impact felt by the families. Marriot is not the first one and wont be the last incidence if we cannot grip ourselves to see what is happening.

Its this reflection of us what we see in our normal daily routines….this reflection of us has to be eradicated….and it will take time, it will come through appropriate planning, resource control, health, transport and most importantly education..Education which creates a tolerant society, which allows all to exercise their opinions and skills at all levels not the education which creates hatred and misconceptions..

It has to be collaborative effort; rather than relying on individuals for guidance and direction. We must believe in some form of process and formulation of thought how to tackle this.

My heart goes out to all whose lives were lost; injured; families who lost their loved ones in Marriot, in Lahore, and all those places where these incidences have taken place in last two years. We owe a big debt to them for making sure that these incidences do not happen and we do not allow those flourishing elements like Talibans, and all the other which West simply can use as and when the need arises to serve their purpose…We must not allow that at any cost.
