What Should We do with Pakistan
By Sher Ali • Dec 15th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsWhat is Pakistan to us. It’s the vision of freedom, democracy, prosperity, and social justice in accordance with the principles of Islam that galvanized the majority of Muslims and people of other creeds of South Asia to launch Pakistan movement, and the dynamic and competent leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam made this dream come true.
But the early demise of the founder of Pakistan and the mysterious murders of couple of independence leaders of movement put brake on this promising land. Unfortunately, after early death of Mr Jinnah, strong civil and military bureaucracy hijacked the state as political institutions were weak and in early formative stage. This led to blurring of our founding vision, giving rise to parochial thinking and politics.
Now the things have become so severely worst that literally the military, bureacracy and feudal rule the country no matter who actually sits in the Islamabad. All this transition to democracy is hogwash because in Pakistan the dictatorship and the democracy are the two side of same coin.
We Pakistanis should strive to make Pakistan a welfare state, and then developing state and then an Islamic state. For that we have to put military, bureaucracy at its place and totally abolish the feudal system.

It is possible only if you remove Islam from the state. A modern state can never be effective till it is bound by religion.
That day is not far when Pakistan will be free of extremism. The miltants have lost control of their organizations there is no doubt about that due to the Army operation in their main areas as now they are trying to damage control through media.
the Taliban and alqaeda have been defeated I believe. The operation in khurrum agenecy in also a success just like the other seven agencies but I think the media is not playing a justified role here. They aer still giving too much time to NRO whereas on the other hand miltants need to be toned down more.
