The self-exiled leader of Balochistan National Party, senator Sanaullah Baloch is back and is talking some very useful things. He left the country during the 2005 military operation in the Balochistan, and he was one of the top wanted man in that epoch, but now as the winds of reconciliations are blowing across the country, he is also back to play his role.

He is right when he says that the problems in the Balochistan are of political nature, and only a political solution and not a military solution could eliminate the anger and frustration of the Baloch people. The demands of the Baloch people are not unjustified. What they want is equal rights as of the people of other provinces and a fair share in the resources they produce.

The problem arises when some Baloch leaders start igniting the people against the federation and the country and talk about separation and then they start terrorist activities. There are media reports that such elements are forcing the non-Balochis to get out from there, and on daily basis ethnic killings are being done. In these circumstances, security forces have to maintain the law and order.

The resignation of senator Sanaullah Baloch may mark the protest over the operations in the Balochistan, but he should not get away from the political process, and he should raise his voice from within. As the center is getting more compassionate towards the Balochistan, Sanaullah Baloch should engage with the government to get more and more relief and control for his people.

Baloch leaders like Sanaullah Baloch should give action to their words, and they should closely work with the political parties to ensure political settlement of all the issues in this restive province. Balochistan is the key to the future success of Pakistan.
