We Have Broken it, So We Ought to Fix it
By A Khokar • Jul 21st, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • (3,777 views) • 2 CommentsAlthough we may be right in blaming US for the prevalent mayhem and anarchy in Pakistan but this was surely Pakistan’s own choice that they see themselves now gutted in this hell fire. It is their own created inferno which is eating it up and is turning this heavenly country’s western area into rubble and ashes.
Pakistan; comparatively a civilised society is seen now tearing apart. Pakistan’s geo strategic location; as it is poised there at the hems, in a commanding position, guarding the lucrative oil rich Persian (Arabian) Gulf; this has always posed a challenge and a up hill task for its leaders to steer their ways in befitting manners. Lately in the wake of ever increasing interest of the West; especially of United States of America in this area; the Pakistani leaders (most of the time; they are military dictators in power through some coup or some authoritarian) at the top have been threatened and coerced to act as US proxy; they are dictated to act as active agent, a ‘surrogate combatant’ to advance the given US agenda.
Once subjugated and conscripted; they are tasked with specific missions to execute and bring about the desired results. In return, for the services rendered and at the same time to up keep of their authoritarian posture of dictator ship; they are assisted politically as well as with economic perks to maintain their positions. In some cases, these stooges are picked up and very skilfully inducted into special cadres run by Neocans of USA and after due vetting and approval; their implantation is arranged and carried out in the target countries like in Pakistan. (Lately we could witness that how plans were chalked out for the lateral entry of Late Miss Benazir Bhutto, known as BB under the cover of NRO to replace a spent cartridge like pawn, Pervez Musharraf). These second bananas and their cohorts when take over the power; not only push forward US given agenda at the cost of pulverising and disintegration of the very basic weave and grain of their own country but also bring about all sorts of atrocities to their own people.
They know that they have just few years of their moonshine at hand; so these savage archaic plunder and loot the country and leave people more impoverished and lamed in the line of implementation of given tasks. Any stability and peace and progress are a far cry. This nation may be striving very hard to break the myths of feudalism; with a hope to open the doors to a democratic way of life; where government is of the people, by the people and for the people. Where freedom is when people can speak, democracy is when the government can listen. Or they may be ravishing the dreams of Aristotle that they will have indigent, and not the men of property, as their rulers. But a common man in the street may not know this that Pakistan geostrategic poise in the area does not allow this. Authoritarians will always be in the seat of power.
We all know that Taliban of Afghanistan has their history, the way they came into being, under US plan and we all know well that how their lower formation, called ‘Mujahideen’ fought a successful Afghan war for US to oust Soviet Union. That phase is over but these hirelings warriors are still keeping their, an ‘elephant like grudge’ that how badly; they were treated by USA at the end. They carry a bitter vengeance against US for that. They happen to be ferocious and brutal people. In order to take revenge (when ever they decide, then they don’t dither); they keep that vengiance very close to their heart and live by that till the end. Taliban in Afghanistan and their remnants in Pakistan might be found believing in the very boorish orthodoxy of their traditions and religion but certainly they have their rehabilitation problem which is the result of a mass displacement occurred since Afghan war against soviet Union.
This need to be addressed and sorted out which can be easily done through dialogues and negotiation with this lot at lower levels. They need shelters over their heads and reasonable jobs to go by with their daily lives to keep their honour in tact and not the US bombardment from above… . They need help. We have broken it so we ought to fix it.
One can very much appreciate US desperation that they want to bring this entire area into their fold…as soon as possible; before this that Russia once again awakes or China comes up and they start bringing this area into their grip. (Many a signs are already visible) USA is a super power and has become a most powerful nation on this ‘poor planet’. Any one will be ready to accept USA as a good friend but certainly not as a master. US failures are evident all over in Middle East, which is the out come of its ill-sighted policies. There is no wisdom at display. US carry a policy of extermination of any one; who so ever resist walking along down the road as per their wishes; may it be their friend or a foe.
This is an inherent dilemma of US policies and their earned credibility in South East Asia. Americans are seen a cruel and thought less people. Why after all a flower be destroyed all together in order to avail, just a sip of its sweet nectar; when you can be… a good ‘humming bird’ and enjoy the sweetness as well as fragrance …time and again and for many more seasons to come.
Where as Israel in the Middle East is a litmus test case of US policies in the Middle East (stretched over a long period of time). With all its powers and articulations; US has not been able to bring about any kind of ‘peace or security’ for its own honey bun…in a tiny piece of land…called Israel.

Nice article khokar with fabulous presentation, articulation and expression of legitimate reservations.
However there are some sticky place that need a bit discussion.
Khokar rehabilitation might be a problem for Afghanistan due to massive displacement during war but what has caused the reserving attitude of people in tribal belt of Pakistan.
FATA was never exposed to similar punishment.
Why is it that these legal peasants reverted to relinquished their own entity.
What are those severe grievances or reservations that ignited their so called “elephant like grudge”?
In my opinion they were as you said “hireling” killer since decades with builtin tendency as trait, in the form and format of brutality and ferociousness.
Rivalry, enmity and vengeance, although are synonymous terms but separated apart in terms of application in social behavioral science indicating a motive that differentiate them in the context of decency and cruelty .
Vengeance is self explanatory to dictate its meaning in the contest of attitude as madness, assertive and disgruntle beyond the scope of norms and nature as decent rival and enemy where as its extent are measured unethically.
Under such unethical and impure qualities dialogue as mode of conversation and communication does not enjoy a reputable position and is only a misnomer.
This platform is utilized normally and traditionally by scholars and intellects.
However this domain of decency is some time expected by group of people or an individual by violating and enforcing their version and expression of thoughts through deliberate and threatening means so to utilize some thing, some one, or some place, may be a place or a person, in lieu of the theme as a mode, means and motive behind their plea thereby expecting and engaging the machinery of functionaries to obey as command.
Khokar, there are modes by which we appreciate the end result or resultant in the form of good, bad, stink, and hazardous.
Such perception is an integrated phenomenon.
Decision making ,desire ,call for a dialogue based solution, and retaliation should always be perceived in the light of expertise, requirement ,availabilities of facts figures ,opinion oriented systemized observations and experience considering and fore casting the overall issue ,attending international , national and local ground realities .
Concluding the discussion with my opinion of thoughts, that may be a factor of disagreement for many,
Existence of Taliban can not be denied.
Dictations are prohibitory and unmeaning at powerful end.
Realities can not be overlooked.
State or states can not be challenged by groups or individual.
Dialogues express partial acceptability of existence.
Power can be obliged at different perspective.
Traits as courage, bravery, valor, desire, are necessary supportive elements but, same is to be expected from all.
Advancement and technology can not be matched with qualities of traits.
Sensible decisions removed rift and conflict.
Cumulative thinking hurdles reactionary decisions.
Power has its language.
Slogans are emotions expressed inadvertently in lieu of feel.
Feel has a natural element of emotion and sentiments.
Sentiments and emotion drift towards wrong decision.
Decisions should be idealistic, and on ground realities.(Dr Raza)
Pakistan needs to take decision in the light of integrity, sovereignty, on available circumstantial facts and figure and on ground realities, exercising its power to curtail and crush any such elements that has become an internal threat or nuisance ,as peace, and writ and any such factor should ideally be removed from the vocabulary of Pakistan’s dictionary that is creating a hazard to our national integrity, sovereignty, peace, external affairs or international reputation and relation as a country.

You are right and well written.
We must take responsibility of our works done. It is our national attitude that we puts our wrong done on others or brings lame excuses to save our ass.
Examples:
Father inquires, why you got less marks in exams? Son, “Papa whole class got les marks”. Is this right answer.
The day we will start taking responsibility on our own shoulders, we will settle all our problems and will live as respectable nation.
