Ufone launches Push to Talk (PTT)
By Rana • Oct 4th, 2008 • Category: Entertainment • 13 CommentsUfone has recently launched PTT with a big bang with a great ad on TV. PTT is really cool and allows you make “walkie-talkie” kind of calls to a single person or group of persons at the same time. Unlike normal calls, which are 2-way (you talk and listen at the same time) PTT is one way (you either talk OR listen)
So how do get this cool service? What you need is:
1. A handset that supports PTT. Most Nokia sets and other high-end sets support PPT. Check your phones menu or manual to see if your set supports PTT. Please do read the PTT part before you embark on getting PTT service. If your cellphone has a monochrome display…..then forget it!
2. Have a credit of Rs. (50+ tax = 63.8) atleast for 150 mins of PTT talk. This translates to call at 42.5 paisas per minute which is really the cheapest in the world…seriously.
3. Get your GPRS activated and functional. Call Ufone (333 or 111333111) for that.
4. Send an SMS to 788 and follow the simple instructions.
5. Finally you need some one that has PTT to talk to ….lol :). You can call Ufone customer service to test PTT with you…..
Happy walkie talking…!
