Transparent Governance Needed

Democracy is all about liberty, equality and justice. In a democratic society, everyone enjoys equal opportunities without any restriction and preference, and the door of accountability remains always open.

The statues of liberty, equality and justice are not mere static ideals aimed at adorning the glittering writings in blogs and columns or to shimmer the speeches of leaders, rather they are living rules through which democracy is recognized and the more living these statues are the more real and viably successful democracy is.

The new government of Pakistan Democratic Alliance must not fell pray to the old habits. Instead of wasting time upon pointing fingers at the misdeeds of the previous regime, they need to work hard on war footings over their own policies and strategies. The nation knows about the blunders and follies of the previous regime and that is why they are not at the helm of the affairs.

Instead of indulging in the politics of vengeance and vendetta, the new government start fighting with food shortage, load-shedding, law and order, and unemployment and they need to do it transparently without any vested interests.

    Hi,
rice shortage is worldwide due to crop failure and divergence of corns for biofuels. Increased petrol and deisel prices have made farmers to cut down on pumset usage. Crude was 23 dollars a barrel and now it is 112 dollars and see how the money is accruing to the shiekhs AND russians.
The previous government is responsible for not increasing installed capacity in power generation under guidance from world bank. But the new government and democracy will be blamed for this shortage affecting everyday life.
Media and elite must make people to show patience for the sake of democracy. Already karachi index lovers are yearning for Musharaff.

Indeed we as a nation had to show patience. But the truth is that new government should not criticize the previous regime as they have not done any wonders yet. And if you are living in Pakistan, a country in which politics has always been a vengeance of the people at top then criticizing the previous regime will not do good for new setup as the nation is fed up of this already.

In a country were we have very sub-standard Journalism, who are sold and also the respective Channels are Bias ,then they can make Mona lisa look like Mussarat shaheed and Rangeela (marhoom) look like Amita Bachan. The stale fodder of news -interviews-debates we hear., Long live the queen

The ones who are Bias are Dr Shahid Masood and Kamran. Are they journalista or chatterboxes —promoting their likes. Shame on both of them. One day they will come in Politics, like Iftikhar Chaudry,Aitzaz ahsan . I think we like shamless people. they are our heros.
