Time to show Mettle

The gloomy painting with dark colors on the horizon of this evening tells us that perhaps we may not be able to write the word ‘PDA’ anymore. Pakistan Democratic Alliance was the best thing happened to Pakistan after all these years, and it’s promise was the direct answer to the aspiration shown by the nation on 18th February, 2008.

President General (r) Pervez Musharraf thought that he would get a hung parliament and that is what he got. What he didn’t speculate was the unexpected and far-reaching unity of the two former arch-rivals Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party. It really toppled the heart of the dictator and the forces of status quo. They trembled at the prospects offered by the coalition and when Bhurban Declaration came, it was a funeral for those dark forces.

But establishment is far too experienced at these dirty games and the uncanny powers of wielding extremely wicked measures to disrupt the democratic process. They moved in steadily and quitly while showing weakness and faintness. They used their old weapon of putting pressure on the new democratic government through the donor countries, especially from the United States.

People like John Negroponte, Richard Boucher, David Milliband, Solana, Patterson and other creeps started creeping the roads of Islamabad and Lahore. They came from left and they came from the right .They used smiles, threats, flowers, blasts, blackmailing, money, donations, rule, power, and every possible material thing to dissuade the leadership of PDA. Their demands converged at single point and that is to leave Musharraf unharmed and untouched.

Leaving Musharraf stay put in the camp office means that there would be no free judges, there would be no free media, there would be no foreign policy and there would be no control upon the war on terror of Pakistani government and that directly translates into yet another chain of suicide bombings.

It seems that they have almost got PPP under their belt and they either want to control Nawaz Sharif or compromise him. American congress has already said publicly that they have everyone on board in Pakistan except Nawaz Sharif and they are keeping a stern eye on him. That makes the life of Nawaz Sharif in danger, but then leaders live and die for the nation, like Benazir Bhutto did.

dear hassan ,it is humbly submitted that person like nawaz sharif can not be matched with mohtarma benazir bhutto .he is neither a leader nor a nationalist .whereas to your query regarding PDA,it was from day one decided that things are to be taken this way .even if coalition break the only thing that will effect would be ministries in federationand rest of the alliance would continue as both parties were out of the scene since so many years, and no one can now afford to stay out and wait for next episode .PDA was formed on the abbreviation of “Please Dont ASK”again.and is satisfactorily carrying out its slogan .

I strongly disagree with doctor raza haider, The day BB started to run around to get an appointment with a general was the day she sold her father’s grave and gave up on everything PPP stood for. Nawaz atleast had guts not to negotiate with a dictator or do a backdoor deal via US to get into the country although before her demise she totally turned back and realised she made a big mistake but it was all too late.

Deals through the United States or Saudi Arabia are one and the same thing - don’t let yourself ever be fooled.

dear usman things do not change in seconds ,stretegies in war are meant to get entries so to achieve objective.objectives are perceived in broad horizons.national horizons have unlimited sphere.dictator does noit mean that he is not the president of pakistan, liking and disliking ,rule of thumb, slogans as verses ,breach the desire motive .flexibility is the main stay of politics.giving way and asking for way are opposite request but with similar directional motive.it is not like that she turned 180 degrees after arriving karachi.if it was like that the same date attack on 18nth,had not happened .leaders are not killed motivelessly .its not a single version that becomes a conflict .grave issues always create threat and compromise releif the life .her death can not be assimilated without a cause .acute phase resolves in few months outcome are felt later .stage within 3 month is an acute phase ,whereas 6 month is a chronic condition.chronic conditions limelight actual results .so lets wait and see why this assasination was conducted.

Its amazing how all of a sudden we forgot how the leaders of the so called PDA have had their chances and have done nothing but leech off of Pakistan in the first place.

I am just surprised by our ignorance.

    Peace

Saad, I am impressed by your “surprise” regarding “our ignorance”. At least, you recognise the truth and even admit it, this already is a big positive improvement, the next is to be better informed to alleviate “our ignorance”, I would think.

Nawaz Sharif is having long term plans to build his party…where as PPP is near to die same like PMLQ and Musharraf. Its not you doctor sahab alone to decide that who is nationalist or leader. Its Peoples of Pakistan who have to decide.

Any way you must get happy on today’s situation but we are not expecting even 0.1% chance that any change will come for Pakistanis. even things will get worst. Keep my word and Inshallah after 2 or 3 years I will remind you again. Things can’t change when you shakes hands with Dictators for the sake of seats.

Nation has paid more than 1.5 Billion cost for keeping Mushi as President. Its not a small amount. You bised people can’t talk say any thing but reality is reality.Shame on Musharraf and his allies.

    Johann Says:

I remember people used to say that 7 families rule pakistan while India is ruled by 22 families. They brought about indo/pak partition and communal riots to achieve their ends.
Today the seven families are behind the Establishment and they donot want pakistan steel privitisation to be done in a particular way. They will break PDA for it. PM(N) must compromise for governance. restoring 63 judges is not as important as this coalition to continue and also to bring SYSTEM IN PLACE which will not be subverted by likes of Musharaff, yaha khans and greedy politicians. Justice choudhry is a great man but he should sacrifice for sake of PPP /PML(N) unity for the sake of pakistan nation.

    Saleem Khan Says:

Sir, 63 judges are not an issue but it shows the level of seriousness…if one party is not serious to restore illegally deposed judges…how we can expect that they will change other things. They will lost confidence and cooperation also. Cooperation from all level of people is must to bring change. If you can’t build up confidence then how you can change.. We are hearing ROTI, KAPRA aur MAKKAN slogan since 1969… Under this slogan we lost East Pakistan, We bringed 2 dictators for rulling us for 20 years, we killed our youngs in the battle of Afghanistan, we saw fights among Political parties, we saw suicides due to hunger, we saw terrorist attacks, we saw American rockets and bombs in our areas, we killed thousands of Balochis and Jamia Hifza girls etc etc etc…. What you hope next by same slogan??? These slogans never works without having real JUSTICE. As a common man, I don’t have trust on this Judiciary system. I have to solve my issues according to my resources and power. If every body will start like this then how you expect that country will work. A country where you require 3 generations to hear final decision of court on any land issue then its better to go and kill that person who is occupying your land since long. and its happening already. Lot of example already.
