Talking Past is Fun, Taliban are Current
By Mohsin Sehgal • Nov 22nd, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 11 CommentsIt’s true that Pakistani ISI and American CIA with the help of other Western powers and Middle East powers helped created Mujahideens of 80s, in which Pakistan was the front line state, and this ragtag force equipped with state-of-the-art weapons defeated USSR, which resulted in it’s historic breakup.
That was then surely in the interest of Pakistan to help prop these Mujahideens, because otherwise USSR was resolute enough to take on Pakistan after Afghanistan, as its ultimate goal was to reach hot waters. It’s also a fact of history that then US went back and world move on. War finished and it was time for all the Mujahideens to go back to their respective countries.
But that didn’t happen. Why those Mujahideens feel alienated? Well they came here with their will to defeat USSR, their mission accomplished, world helped them, and then it was time for them to move on too. Did they want world to feed them forever?
It’s not that. They had tasted power, and they wanted to have it. They had it in Afghanistan briefly and then they misjudginly thought about defeated US too. For that to happen, they did 9/11, and for that to happen they started weakning Pakistan. Just because of their power mongering, now Iraq is a great debris, Afghanistan is still in stone age, and Pakistan is fast becoming a ruin.
The tribal region of Pakistan are an ungoverend region for too long. That’s the blunder committed by our rulers and as we know there blunders of past are limitless. Kidnapping, narcotics, and other crimes are the way of life in these tribes. It was a perfect den for the foreigners to have their base and to have a go at the world. That was what they did and world neglected them for too long. These foreigners used the name of Islam, and defamed it.
In no way does Islam allow the killing of innocents and what Taliban is doing in Pakistan is condemnable. Taliban are the amalgamation of these foreigners and the tribes and some brainwashed people from throughout the country. There is no point in talking with them, as history tells us, the only way is to defeat them through force, and then after breaking their back, send them from where they belong. Remember that war is just a mean to reach to end of this bloody war against terror.

It is never too late…to come to senses and correct our oars…!
One may come up with hundred and one arguments that why the Afghan borders are kept porous with Pakistan in the west that in a way this strategy was availing us an option to have our strategic depth in Afghanistan to counter the evil intents and designs of our arch enemy India located in the East that our survival remains always at stake at this enemy hands.
But this strategy has boiled down to what?
The same enemy against whose evil designs…. this castle was erected and extended to avail a depth of our defences—- has very cunningly been used against us and that using the same porous borders— India has very covetously infiltrated in to spread anarchy in our society by supporting TTP and others?
Pakistan has been banking on Afghanistan for its survival but we find that Afghanistan is sitting in our enemy laps and in addition to that even our own Pakistani brethren living along western borders have also sold their loyalties in our enemy hands for perks and largesse.

Your army continues to be in pay of USA even today.Those innocent “”Freedom fighters”" of Muslim UMMA came from all over world leaving their mother land and killed the USSR soldiers and got killed but they evicted Russians.In return you got Afghanistan to be ruled by TALIBAN who owed allegiance to SAUDI ARABIA AND UAE DOLALRS and ofcourse YOUR ARMY. See the nonchalent way those shot at Bamiyan budhdhas. Your country never even once protested nor the Saudies.
Now the same FREEDOM FIGHTERS WANT TO EVICT AMERICAN AGGRESSORS WHO ARE OCCUPYING THEIR LAND. WHY PAKISTANI ARMY IS NOT SUPPORTING THEM AND CALLING THEM INDIAN AGENTS?
No one in their right frame of mind can think they can solve this problem with force alone. USSR was defeated by a handful who was a far far far greater power than Pakistan. Just think. War is always followed by talks, history is your reference. Even world wars were followed by talks where the axis powers were completely humbled by allies.

Kashmir is part of unresolved partition, brought before UN by India, while UN mandated US and allies to attack Afghanistan. So you mean UN should prevail? I agree with you UN should prevail.
Bumiyan Buddha statue was not that known till Taliban they thought to demolish them and his news got a world wide attraction. Although many other shrines and places of worship are being day and night. Churches and temples are brought down; like Babery mosque in India and many other churches etc. But our corporate media playing in hands of specific lobbies does not portray them as they portrayed the Bamiyan.
But with Bamiyan centuries old history of this land came to light and was revived that how the religion of God bestowed by Almighty to the mankind has travelled along. After the ancient time of Hinduism and Buddha in the olden days, this area has also gone through its phases till it entered its modern phase of Ibrahimic times from where it has been progressing under its denomination like Judah and Christianity and finally has reached at it summit in Islam.
This is how the mankind has been progressing and its conscious hood has been achieving the stages toward to reach towards adulthood. Some of us knowing it to be such are still stuck in their old ruts; and keep on trying to malign and pulling their legs to bring them down to their darkness’s that after the light of Islam all the previous denomination stand as superseded and cancelled

It is observed that your comments mostly remain— Saudis specific that espacially you keep on wrangling about their issues and looks like that you are weary of their leadership that they are providing in their capacity to the Muslim world that they think that western power are all out to subdue these people.
Pakistan and Iran case is in front of us that how Pakistan is being pulled down toward for its depletion and our next door neighbour India; while in extreme love with us is trying its best on a fast forward mode to have its nuclear assets ceased from this nation.
On the other side the entire west is bent upon this that Iran must not attain this nuclear power where as others like Israel has got and are threating all around.
Just curious to know that— have been serving in Saudi Arabia also?

Mr Johaan is a retired Aviator and lives in Bangalore- India with a plenty of time at his hand. I do appreciate that some times he is reason able and his points are methodical but the man is on his mission to distract us all from some worth while discussion that we may have on a particular issue.
He keeps on trying to deviate the attention of people coming here and drag them out to India–Pakistan usual bashing and bickering.
For instance this very particular article has no connection with Palestine or Brig Zia participation in Palestine or some thing but he must drag it other wise. Some of us also join him and start in pitying ourselves.
His aim of exercise remains to demoralize this nation and spread despondency.
Lots of questions are still unanswered as far as this whole war on terror goes on.

You are right about being a retired aviator with plenty of time. Ofcourse my left eye is almost 50% blind but still i feel sorry for the enmity you show for India. If I ” DEMORALIZE AND SPREAD DESPONDENCY”" is realy a great credit for an retired Old Indian man.
Common Khokar you are despondent because you CANNOT FACE TRUTH. Truth is heigher than anything in this world and Sritve for it and you will have no fear and will NOt FEEL DESPONDENT.

What kind of truth is there that you think that I try to turn my eyes away?
I am quite capable of replying any one; every query with logic and reasoning— and with respect and grace.
I have always welcomed your view points and they got really a high place with me but what do you think that I should keep quite every time that people will try to throw mud toward my country or on its people…. for heck of it.
I know about 1930 and also what has gone before in Saudi Arabia as you have mentioned regarding Saudi Arabia. But I know only this that under the circumstances Saudis are well placed and know better than anybody else that— how and why they have to behave the way they are behaving.
Please do mind that the dialogue for money that Pakistan is carrying out with US is not that it is asking for some dole money or something. Pakistan is simply asking for the money that US is to pay on the account of war against terror. Pakistan as a front state country in the war has suffered a loss of some 80 Billion and getting of some 7.5 billion is just a pea nut.
Look; India for centuries has been ruled by the foreign powers except this time that after 1947 the Colonial powers have to quit at their own that back home Hitler had threatened their home lands and started occupying one after another. To get their home land freed; it cost them so much that they eventually had to quit even their colonies and—– some 40 countries of the world were freed. In 1947 Pakistan was also created but ever since its inception India has not accepted it whole heartedly and remains busy in disintegrating it.
Pains inflicted by India are countless—— that is the only dilemma.
Every Indian who pops up here including you; is always seen trying to undermine the stand view point of Pakistan at every stage….why it is so….what sort of service is this that they are doing toward their country?
