Talibans Bite Back : Tariq Azizuddin Still Held
By Fatima Tassaduq • Apr 19th, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,070 views) • 4 CommentsWe all know the heck about how we created the genie of Taliban and how the chickens have come back home to roost, but the kidnapping of Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan is yet another feeler for the Pakistanis to rethink about their stance and approach about war on terror and about relations with the Afghanistan government.
Talibans are the past and they are a spent force. They have harmed Islam and Pakistan more than the enemies could do and they are only harming more and more. Their target is now Pakistan, because we consider them brothers and welcome them to our territory, and try to justify them.
What sort of good service these Mujahedeen of Taliban are doing of Islam by kidnapping a fellow Muslim? What sort of good service they have been doing for Islam throughout all these years? They have done nothing but to label Muslims as terrorist across the world.
Talibans are demanding the release of their companions and this has come on the time when Pakistan’s new PDA government has decided to solve the issues in FATA through dialogue despite of huge US pressure to attack Talibans. These fools want US to crush them. Their evil attitude clearly shows that they only care for themselves and they don’t have any sympathy for their brothers in Pakistan and they don’t care about the huge population living in FATA area.
Muslim world should unite to clear these militants from their own cadres as they are the tools in the hands of nefarious powers to undermine Islam. Pakistan should try to get Tariq Azizuddin back by hook or by crook, then they must do a massive crack down upon the Talibans in the tribal belt and where ever they exist. It’s our mess, and we have to clear it up.

very right fatima. i support your reservation. these talibans have created a mess in our country .they have litereary spoiled every desk and corner of our thoughts and compromised to the limit our national integrity.whats happening in fata and surrounding is a devils date that is to be given time now. from the day these hell seekers afghani taliban landed our country ,they have crossed every limits and strenghen their activity beyond caliper. I am still unable to understand the moto of brotherism and brotherhood .no relation is beyond and above the integrity and security of the country .what was the theme behind that these indivisuals were allowed to get entry into pakistan during their war of fate .you see taliban in my opinion is a threat in the form and format of thoughts .these are the extremist that exists on the ground and criteria of threat and war and believe in the principle like mafia to make their verdict as the authority to be obeyed in any case .for this they have opted to utilized the platform of islam which speaks of peace harmony and love among people of different sites and scenecs .however .these talibanis by distorting the correct picture and preach of islam has transformed their own desire and motive in toand thus utilizing mandatory islamics essential , jihad as slogan in lieu as the appeal of time .inmy opinion this global threat is to be encountered at all levels and ladders and means so to express in a real sense the essence of islam .we are distinguished entity as muslim and being pakistani ,and believes on the integrity of all man kind and nation.similarly as we believe in our soverignity and integrity any element that may be considered as a threat and harmful elementyt to our national security should be treated and retaliated in th same aggressive manner .this phenomena is not a new theory if ,someone gets a potentially dead limb or part of the body ,in medical field it is removed so to save the life. similarly any thing that goes wrong in our day to day activity we rectify it by throwing ,removing and cutting its base line. these are nuisance to the nation ,our people and integrity and our security forces and civilians and above all to islam .and should ideally be treated as false interpretor and intruders, and should get the same tretment and punishment as is awarded to such culprit.in my opinion all such elements that enhance and supports these element shall equally get the share of punishment .but this punishment that is awardedshould be carefully monitored as those civilians that are at stake due to their deliberate crime should get easy escape from these criminal hands . here i would like to emphasize with regard to MR tariq ,that its the duty of our government to look after our ambassador and if we can not afford to protect as nation our representative then its an alarming sign and signatutre that any body can put us at stake any time .it is a sugesstion that all means by hook or by crook , be initiated to get the release of respective representative with severest punishment to the culprit so too uphold the writ of the state as soverign state.

I agree on the thoughts but i am wondering what made you write “by hook or by crook”, i think in either case we can’t get him back. Our government is mostly made from Punjab and these leaders rarely take out time to visit the FATA. Did you all wonder how many times Musharraf visited the tribal areas before 9/11? Or did you all wonder how many times our PM’s visited the tribal areas? Even did you all ever wonder how much development work is done in these areas? Has anyone ever wondered why these areas were just used as tissue paper in all the past years? Why camps of Mujahideen were formed in these areas in the Afghan War? Why drugs were allowed to pass through these areas when CIA was selling it across the globe? Why not Lahore, Islamabad or Karachi were used for this purpose? And before talking about Taliban and calling them evil did you ever wonder why we brought these evil forces to power? Why our same leaders were backing them in the 90’s? Do you expect a person who fought as comrade with these talibans few years ago will now kill them because of change in our foreign policy?
Did you ever wonder that sitting in metropolis these statements make sense when you have never been to the tribal areas yourself?
Please first answer half of the above questions before passing such extreme remarks. And for your information do you think America is giving them flowers in Afghanistan? The whole NATO is busy trying to crush them but they have failed and you think our government will crush them? It is just wishful thinking and you can not crush a whole tribe just because they don’t agree with the double standards of your foreign policy which changes with every government and made by people rather then institutions.
Come on wake up and start talking logic. I am not a fan of Taliban but i don’t think that with this attitude you can help the situation. Already people have so much hatred against each other and all the provinces are becoming different entities. Punjabi, Pathan, Baluchi and Mahajar sounds common names to us and not to forget that Shia and Sunni are considered as if two different worlds.

Mr Junaid Khan,
Things are not entirely true as you stated. Every government tried to start development projects in FATA areas but their political representative not likes it. I personally knows that many times, Sarhad government tried to build roads in Khyber Agency (FATA area) but these people resisted and not allowed contractors to do work. They destroys roads becasue they have one clear fear… that is, if infrastructure will become strong in FATA then Pakistan’s Army and FC police will take hold of whole area easily. Their political agents don’t want Government hold at any cost. They sends their people to attack on contractors when ever work starts. Only main road between Afghanistan and Peshawar is in good condition. Political agents are earning millions due to is FATA state.
As far water supply and electricity is concerend, you can’t enjoy them without paying bill even for a month but no body is paying bill in whole FATA region. They not gives bills since Pakistan’s independence. Please take out WAPDA annual report and you will find 65% of Receivable Amount chunk of FATA and 25% of ARMY.
Its not matter of any province (which most of commentators tries to raise) its matter of their regional leaders. Most of old mentality leaders don’t want any development projects because they looses hold of their area by this. Who will go to their home for favor, if police stations will work? who will cry for water, if water supply will reach there? How they will give their lectures, if schools will start teaching and spreading awareness among villagers. This is the reason that every time you see same faces elected from Interior Sind and Balochistan and FATA. NWFP and Punjab ( south Punjab is still slave) people got rid of these land lords and feudalisms and you will find people more independent here.
You can’t change luck of common man without changing system. Land reforms and hold of any personality from any area is must to give relief to common man. Only dictators could be able to do it but alas they also shakes hands with them and makes them more strong. How you can expect reforms from PMLQ and PPP and other related parties, the main holders of these parties belongs to same families and they don’t want to loose their grip. Its long discussion and things will remain same even after our discussions. Just pray that change should be fast. We can’t expect revolution.
