in the suicidal mockery of my
fellow beings
where the sneeze of an animal
is of concern
but a mother kills her own children
to avoid a life of hunger
doesn’t raise a tear
where dacoits are in the councils
of law making
where everything is translated to mandate
where aims are twisted
into manipulated tools of using people
where faces change; but the act is the same
even tears feel like a burden
upon the back of a sinking ship
whose keel made of gold is being sold to many hands
on deck with feet in other ships
my people still hope
a day shall come
when we shall rise
above our own ruins
hope…
