Solution to FATA Crisis
By Brig. Millions of people of FATA live differently then we do, and they are doing it for centuries, and they are in no mood to change it through the sticks security forces are using.
It’s meaningless to ban the armed outfits of Lashkar-e-Islami (led by Mangal Bagh), Ansar-Ul-Islam (led by Qazi Mehboobul Haq who is Mangal’s sworn enemy) and Haji Namdar-led Tanzeem Amar Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Anil Munqar. Like it or not, the local people like either of these organizations, and they feel sense of security in their presence. People out there do not trust the corrupt political administration installed by the federal government.
The only way to bring that area towards modernization is by offering and giving them carrots, lots of carrots. Use of force is necessary in that area but that force should be applied in giving jobs, hospitals, schools, industry, recreation and other things of life to FATA people, rather than forcing them to pick arms.
Talibans are in millions in the FATA region, and they have got full support and sympathies of the local population. They cannot be wiped out with force. Only that would backlash and would set the Pakistan on fire as a whole. Security czar Rehman Malik and Puppet Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani must understand that they could only implement writ of the government through engaging people and through pushing the modernity down their throat sweetly.

Policy; planning, execution, implementation of law; writ, security and safety and orders are the pleasure and domain of the state by virtue of its authoritative prerogative. Dictations in the form of threat or suggestion are never taken in to accounts whenever there is challenge on the authoritative or administrative sphere of influence.
Decisions of functionaries as executives is a phenomena that is floated in response to feedbacks and opinions of the administrative executive through chain of commands engaging via different source of opinions such as military ,policing and monitoring agencies .
Such decisions are perceived without emotional elements keeping and setting aside the emotional desire of the respondent spectators and commentators whereas the modus operandi are always weighted through, required criteria of surveillance security ,safety ,and diplomatic enclave .
In my opinion you are very much familiar to the system of administration, monitoring and law enforcing strategies by virtue of your extremes of service.
Taliban and any such factors, in FATA, need exemplary treatment, as, part of therapy. These factors need to be crushed as state within state can not be regarded.

Hi Brigadier saheb,
How you are going to thrust Modernity SWEETLY in the throat of TALIBAN in FATA when you could not control Lahore University jamaat or the young girls who were getting training at lalmasjid at islmabad?

Its Not only FATA that needs solution as whole country is facing acute conditions of lawlessness. The basic principle of lawlessness is that when people loose trust on government and dont find justice for their survival ,the law breaking incidents start.Laskhar salam or namdar group[ is doing same thing that are being done by rehman dakeet , arshad papu gang or MQM doing in karachi area.Chaudry brothers are running this mafia culture in gujrat, same condtions of anti law is prevailing in sardar culture of baluchistan and internal sind.So lal masjid incident in modern city of Islamabad actually reflects people insecure attitutde towards system.
When whole country is burning by the flame of lawlesness , we need revolutionary steps to implement all parts of Pakistan.First step could be that to implement one law for all.But again the miilion dollar question is who will bring that system.Mussarf a dictator who broke law of his country twice.Zardari who throughout his life is remembered as corrupt and absconder or the team of aliens who are holding top seats of government by taking direct flight of NRO.
In my view the system will not improve whether in FATA or in Karachi untill we let down the typical characters of status quo in our system.Ruling mafia should be forced to quit the system as they had created double or triple standards of living .Rich and influential are dancing on law of country while common men are facing hardship because of poor management of ruling mafia.Ruling family trees should be chopped off as soon as possible otherwise no power could stop us heading towards stone age values.
