In a dramatic development, Chaudhary Shujaat has once again become active in the release of Lal Masjid’s incarcerated Khateeb Maulana Abdul Aziz. He has talked with the nephew of Maulana Amir Sadiq in this regard, and Maulana Amir Sadiq has also endorsed these meetings and the efforts to release the arrested Khateeb.

Chaudhary Shujaat has sought the help of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maulana Sher Ali in this regard, and both of them are very active in this regard. Both Chaudhary Shujaat and Fazlur Rehman are at the hit list of the Talibans, who have been demanding the release of Maulana Abdul Aziz since the Lal Masjid operation.

Militants have been doing suicide attacks and bomb blasts in various cities and towns of Pakistan and their demands include the return of Pakistan Army from the FATA area, termination of Army operations and release of Maulana Abdul Aziz and his companions.

Government has many times warned both Chaudhary Shujaat and Fazlur Rehman about the potential terrorists attacks upon them, and even Fazlur Rehman is now addressing his election rallies from the mobile phones, and Chaudhary Shujaat is also keeping a low profile.

Now both these persons may be trying to get a life ticket for themselves by negotiating the release of Maulana Abdul Aziz, and also trying to get some votes on the name of religion.
