The people of Dir have proved their mettle. The people of Hayagay Sharqi in Dir area hurriedly formed an armed Lashkar to avenge the killings in a suicide blast at a mosque in this village on Friday last. Lashkar has shell-shocked the terrorists and terrorists are on the run. Villagers are pounding the houses of the militants with rockets and then setting them on fire. Armed villagers are fast closing on the terrorists and they have sorrounded the terrorists from all sides.

According to the news, the armed villagers fighting the Taliban in the remote Doog Darra area of Dir Upper made advances into Shatkas village after using heavy weapons, destroying several bunkers and killing two more militants. The resistance from the militants waned as they could fire only twice throughout the battle. Villagers in Miana said they saw the Taliban digging up a number of graves in Ghazigay. The villagers believed that the decisive fighting might take place in the next two days.
