Rehman Malik Goes On

By Brig. (r) Junaid Zaman • May 14th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 4 Comments

Rehman Malik, the advisor to the Prime Minister on the interior issues has really geared up for his real tasks of showing muscles to the foes and friends. Now it’s no secret that he is the Dirty Boy for the Asif Ali Zardari.

He earned his notoriety after th fiasco of the postponement of the by-elections, and after digesting that embarrassment with an iron-clad stomach, he is publicly roaming hither and thither to snatch the Punjab Government from the PML-N.

With totally in synchronization with the Punjab Governor, Khalid Maqbool, Rehman Malik is dropping rewards, promises and threats in the Lahore and Islamabad and he is reported to have accumulated lots of MPAs even some of the weak-hearted from PML-N. The forward bloc of PML-Q plus the forward bloc of PML-N, PPP with it’s own heavy presence would find it a smooth sailing in the Punjab.

It is also clear that PML-N also knows that and have accepted these realities and they are not much caring about their government in Punjab, and they are basically preparing for the next general election, which they think are not too far away.

  1. moving on to the real issues:

Here is why we cannot trust Nawaz [the self acclaimed ami-ul-mumineen]

Nawaz fought with 4 Army Chiefs…. General Kakar (over Ghulam Ishaq), General Asif nawaz (over operation clean-up), General Karamat (over NSC) and General Musharraf (when he appointed a ISI Ziauddin butt as COAS)….. when you kick someone…. why shouldn’t someone else kick you ????

Nawaz fought with 2 Presidents. Ghulam Ishaq Khan and Leghari.

Nawaz fought with Public, when he froze their $ 10 billion Foreign Currency Accounts. When he started operation clean-up.

Nawaz fought with Media, when he halted their paper supplies on KHI Port. When he merged private STN into PTV. When he had beaten & locked-up Najam Sethi of Dailytimes. When he had Ittifaq foundry’s Union leader thrown in Fire in Bahitti.

  2. They had an issue with the Jang Group as well - the famous recorded conversation of the then Ehtesab chief (Saif Ur Rehman) with Mir Jamil Ur Rehman of Jang (it is in public domain and can be accessed) . There is even a reference to the High Court and judge and the judge’s father courage (judege ke baap ki himmat / majal !) - this is just a point to prove the “great services” and “respect” they had for the media and judiciary and never missed a chance to display. This all in addition to the tragedy of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on November 28, 1998.
