Predicting the Unpredictable

By A Khokar • Jun 24th, 2010 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 22 Comments

Seeing the past track record of ever expanding  phony war on Terror and the usual US lame excuses put forward to prolong the war in the countries that US has continuously been invading to occupy, one after another on some pretext or the other— and we find that US has come and pitched its forces right at our western borders. It is not difficult to ascertain or read the mind of US think tanks and its Pentagon that what is there in the offing for the people who find themselves subjected to the perpetual atrocities of ‘US lead armed Forces’ and their onslaught.

Basing on the given blue print  and the ‘Projected Calendar’ of  this phony war;  following may best be predicted— for at least, next one year to come.

1.   To win the US senate election due in November this year and by gauging  the non-supportive US public opinion for Afghan war; Obama needs a political clout of withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan and his earlier announcement to end the war in next year –July 2011 date must remain in place.

2.   From now onward till the US mid-term elections results are announced and its outcome is consolidated; Al Qaeda; a US friend (in need is friend deed) who is always seen ready with their Video messages hurled on such occasion to help, aid and build up the scenario/ pretext—–it is expected that Al Qaeda may not issue their usual rhetoric of ultimatum of some sort or the other.

3.   But  prior to midterm elections; in October, the CIA mercenaries force in Pakistan —TTP must increase its savagery for obvious reasons… which is meant to mark a firm perception in the media that Pakistan is an unstable country as ever and to show that US presence in Af-Pak is justified.

4.   Winter otherwise may pass relatively calm but in view of precarious situation in Pakistan and also to keep Pakistan army at arm’s length from the Corridors of power in Islamabad; —as a token of prize for Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and for his services; his tenure may be extended in recognition of his victory in Swat and FATA.

5.   Comes spring 2011 and at the home front Obama is no more in need of up keep of the rhetoric to end the Afghan war. Per old calendar, Al Qaeda must escalate its atrocities to make it known that terrorism is still ‘live and kicking’ thus US exit from Afghanistan as scheduled in July 2011 may be announced as postponed.

6.    At this point the fake Taliban group known as TTP which is supported by CIA/Mosad and RAW of India— is likely to start unleashing their subversive attacks in Pakistan. Pak Military security command bases connected with various nuclear silhouettes may be their prime targets— to show that how the nuclear weapons of Pakistan are vulnerable and up for grab by the terrorists.

7.   To undermine the writ of government further—- some of the key persons in government may also be made targets.

Above may be seen by some, a wild flagrant explanation of the situ put forward by some ’devil’s advocate’. But out there on ground the situataion has really been taking  different turns. It is seen that in the face of the unflinching resolve, resilience and steadfastness shown by the rag-tag Taliban—the Hezbollah over such a long period of time, fighting against a far superior sabre rattling forces of super power.  US forces with all their might are seen terrified.  Their high command is also in disarray and considers it fighting a sham useless war. Death toll is growing exceptionally high and there is nothing at hand which can be declared as— Victory.

The top US Commander in Afghanistan, Gen Stanley McCrystal is also found in dither  and  seen babbling for fighting a sham war. Back home he has been labelled as ‘ The Runaway General’. Lately McCrystal has been summoned  back in Washington and may be asked to resign. With heavy hearts; US forces are packing up in humiliation to go home.

One is amazed that how the Lord of the Heaven and the Earth changes the scenario in the favours of His believers who remain steadfast. When Allah says: [59:2] “….(O believers)…..You did not think that they (your enemy) would go forth (budge), and (your enemy) thought that their fortresses would defend them against Allah. But Allah came upon them from where they did not expect, and CAST TERROR INTO THEIR HEARTS,, so that they destroyed their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So take a lesson, O ye who have eyes!”

Regards

  1. As expected:

    Obama Relieves McChrystal of Command

WASHINGTON — President Obama removed Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal as commander of American forces in Afghanistan on Wednesday, and tapped as his replacement the general’s boss and the architect of the 2007 surge in Iraq, Gen. David H. Petraeus.

Mr. Obama, standing with General Petraeus and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. in the White House Rose Garden to underline the continuity and solidity of his Afghan policy, said that he had accepted General McChrystal’s resignation “with considerable regret.”

Mr. Obama said he had done so not out of personal insult, but because a magazine article featuring contemptuous quotes from the general and his staff about senior administration officials had not met standards of behavior for a commanding general, and threatened to erode trust among administration and military officials and undermine civilian control of the military.

“War is bigger than any one man or woman, whether a private, a general or president,” Mr. Obama said. “As difficult as it is to lose General McChrystal, I believe it is the right decision for national security.”

“I welcome debate among my team,” he said, “but I won’t tolerate division.”

  2. Being an Advocate of Muslim Ummah or apart just by Profession as an Advocate of White Collar Crime: For some reason when I tell the truth about things I am accused of telling lies but if I make up the most outrageous lie, thinking that nobody will ever be stupid enough to believe this, then they eat it up as truth. Really Astonishing isn’t it!?

Bro. Khokhar This entire War at Muslim Countries is based on BIG LIE — whether you believe me or Not or either make fun of me as some possessed the Degree of Moderate Faculty you may call them in other words — so called Aashiq of Musharaff’s Theory!-?

In short this is a realization Why are there Christians in the US who still think their government is Christian & at Pakistan/Afghanistan only Muslims — this is it that they or we have no idea what the Bible or Quran say?

Therefore against Islamic Sharia this New World Order = The West has Toed the line —— A Government that runs the whole world & power was given him (the antichrist) over all kindred & tongues or nations, how much more clear can it get? Muslim UMMAH, Wake Up! I know they claim to serve God on camera but in secret, the entire American, Brits & Israel Government serve Satan!
It’s not a New World Order, It’s a new world war coming soon.

  3. Story of General McCrystal is a story of a soldier in command who is such a high ranking officer. He befriended with some unknown person and gleefully tried to be Chummy with the Journalist Michael Hasting of Rolling Stone Magazine. Having an interaction with him for reasonably long time; he took him to be his man of confidence and a friend to be. Military men they do have a habit of using slangs , name calling and slurry tone in communication— which is quite common.

But; you may be sent home being loose lipped; if you are an American General.

I personally think that where as General Crystal conduct cannot be said as conduct unbecoming of a General but his punishment is something which is overdone.

Order of his termination as a top commander passed by Obama certainly does not reflect that justice has been done but it is politically motivated termination.

Obama has made McCrystal a scapegoat to make up his personal credibility that he seems lost during this period of turmoil and series of setbacks that America is facing at home as well as on US foreign policy front.

  4. Whereas General McCrystal seems to be a down to the earth a field commander who would not dither to lead his troops form the front and is not shy of living and sharing a life on battle ground of even very low ranking soldiers.

You never know that God might have saved him for his slips of tongue (bad may be) from the humiliation which is written on the wall; destined for America in this Phony war of Terror; that millions have perished. Maimed and their lands reduced to rubbles at the hands of US forces.

  5. Sir, Khokar Sahib! It seems you are enjoying your party of one - well wish you great fun !

Just one observation in addition to wondering about your wild speculations - sir, “story of General McCrystal” is nothing but story of a big mouth and insubordinate soldier who had to be and is disciplined for the sake of discipline. Period.

    Good day!

  6. The situation is much more complex than it appears on the surface. The resignation of the American General is an internal US issue and should not be linked with the war on terror. We can’t shun the horrors terrorism has brought us. The precious lives lost can’t be returned but we must move forward making sure that the efforts to eradicate terrorism are carried out with sheer dedication.

  7. Aftab S. Alam

Kabhi hum bhi thay tum say ashna; tumhain yaad hou, keh nay yaad hou

Aftab— such a long absence…? But I always had a feeling that you must be out there.

Anyhow; Nice to know that you are Ok.
    May God bless you

    Please be in contact.

    With best of Regards

  8. “Loose Lips Sink Ships”

Military men they do have a habit that they crib a lot, use slangs extensively in day to day talks and indulge even in name calling— which is quite common practice especially by the more courageous guys among them. McCrystal was one of those kinds.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s mistake was not indulging in — and allowing his aides to indulge in — locker room guy talk; his “mistake in judgment” was allowing a writer for the far-left, anti-war magazine, “Rolling Stone” apparently unrestricted and prolonged access to him and his aides. The World War II slogan “Loose Lips Sink Ships” which was intended to encourage Americans to keep quiet about any information pertaining to that war, could also apply to modern generals and their staffs.
This may be bit of repetition but I personally think that where as General Crystal conduct may not be called— as his conduct unbecoming of a General but his punishment is something which is a kill— overdone.
His termination orders as passed by Obama do not reflect that justice has been done but most probably it is politically motivated termination.

US failure in Afghanistan is but eminent. Obama has made McCrystal a scapegoat to cover up his war follies and make use the incident to repair his personal credibility that he seems lost during his early period of turmoil and series of setbacks that America is facing at home as well as on US foreign policy front.

  9. Let’s hope all these so called predictions are wrong, because people from both sides have already seen enough violence from the militants. In order to keep things simple, Pakistan must come in peace with its neighbors, so that the intelligence activities are reduced to the minimum.

  10. @6 said: ……………”The resignation of the American General is an internal US issue and should not be linked with the war on terror.”……………….

Well — Well: Why we Pakistanis always forget this is not like the same as you & others always think & forget rather Pakistan’s biggest ally is China, KSA, GCC Countries & Iran in crystal clear words “NOT AMERICA” Specially Indians at this Forum often mentioned Pakistan “Begging Aid” to America?

May I allow to prove in black & white with undeniable Real Facts of the matter is —-that — America BEG HELP to Pakistan & Pakistan claiming the war expenses only. Moreover this has become history which can-not be deny that Upon Fulfillment of Ulterior Motives & to Save the New World Order - America Imposed & Indulged to Pakistan in the same WaT & purchased here-at Some Puppets against NRO.

Hence before this so called War on Terror — Pak Growth Rate was almost “Seven Percent” more than India & 2nd in the world. This beloved country’s Economy went down just because of American Aid & her Presence? Believe Me according to my School of Thought — Such Friendship is on my foot & kick hard far away.

*Balawajay = Without any solid Reason

*Baqi Sub Khanian Jhootee- All rest of the stories are self made fabricated rather Ready Made “West Side Stories” – Yes it is by mean to state simultaneously Americans wished they would Occupied the Caspian Oil Sea Reserves at the Central Asian Countries & would have supposed to Crush Taliban before summer 2003 & thus the game of to Kill Two Birds with One Stone would be accomplished.

But all her/American efforts had gone in VAIN. Believe Me – Bro. Khokhar & Rashid Salim – If you may not so – then wait with Patience. TIME WILL PROVE.

  11. About predictiting the unpredictable, well, I do not comment on fictions. Sc. fi. writers H.G. Wells and C. Clarke have destroyed the world thrice on highly strong scientific theories and hypotheses. Period. But a fiction is a fiction. It is like tossing a coin - heads or tails. Who cares any way, we all die alone.

About Gen. McChrystal’s forced resignation, it is as simple as that. He violated the discipline by criticizing the Supreme Commander of USA and President of USA that went public through Rolling Stone and corroborated by a highly senior military officer. Other than that, you can make a thousand and one stories and that is what is being done by media (including the blogger). Same general was target of extreme criticism by media before he resigned. Now, he is “down to earth professional”, honest and that “he called a spade a spade”. Media must have something sensational to sell to the public. The best way to pay tribute to the out-going general is to quote his immediate statement after resignation. Since the blogger has forgotten the remarks I reproduce it:

“I strongly support the presi-dent’s strategy in Afghanistan and am deeply committed to our coaltion forces, our partner nations and the Afghan people.

It was out of respect of this commitment - and a desire to see the mission succeed - that I tendered my resignation.”

  12. When Pakistani Army killed 10.000 palestenians in Jordan on the orders of CIA, it is great
When Pakistani Army as member of SEATO/CENTO killed innocents in Kashmir on behalf of CIA, it is great
When Pakistani Army killed East pakistanies and raped Dacca university, it is great
When Pakistani Army killed Russians on behalf of CIA in Afghanistan, it is great.
When Pakistani Army killed Nawab of Bugti in his cave, it is great
When Pakistani Army invade lal Masjid, it is great
Now when Pakistani Army is invading SWAT, SOUTH WAZIRSTAN, and when Mehsuds fight back, they are agents of RAW
    What logic is this Khokar?
I respect your country’s civilian leadership for Pakistan/Iran gas deal abondoned by Indian Pro American establishment. I respect your judiciary for giving 15 years sentence to American terrorists. Military rule would not have done these.

  13. Well, come on they have just fired a general. But yes, we poor Pakistanis cannot imagine our President firing our general. Our President, the commander in chief (or thief in chief?) cannot even fire a Jawan :)

  14. @ A Khokar

Sir, it’s been, all along, a great pleasure to be private recepient of your articles - some of which have been appealing and others repelled common sense, but, nevertheless a constant source of provoking serious thinking and insight into diverse point of view - for which I am & have been grateful.

    Kindest!

  15. Remember, no matter how bad You are, You aren’t totally useless. You can always be used as a bad example. So we can use crystal in Pakistan.

  16. The press conference I heard was the one where the Commander in Chief Obama said that this was a personell change not a policy change. He also said to make no mistake that we are at war…and other things that made it pretty clear that CIC was committed to winning in Pakastan and Afghanastan. He said too that he would never allow anyplace to be a haven for terrorists who plot to kill women and children in our country.

  17. To say the least, This is a confused article. What is the difference in policy between Obama and McChrystal? McChrystal’s insubordination is not about policy; he doesn’t have a different policy to offer; there’s no Yalu river to cross. If you know what Yalu river is, you have got the point.

  18. The author seems to be an educated spokesperson for Taliban. So let’s get this straight the U.S is supporting the Taliban? The very same Taliban who have attacked its soldiers and at the same time the U.S is also supporting Pakistan to fight against the Taliban?
Now does it not sound a little too much to digest! Both Pakistan and United States are victims of terrorism and are committed to fight them. Such ridiculous propaganda is an insult to Human intelligence.

  19. Ammar and Friends,
What has gone wrong with we people; Above cooments show that—Sadly we are unable to differentiate between— ‘The Taliban; Aka Afghani Taliban fighting a legitimate war against the occupation of foreign force and —-the fake Taliban found in Pakistan; since raised by CIA. This group is bringing havoc in our society through subversiosn, killing and suicidal bomb-blasts. This is sell out group of Pakistanis turned as traitors of this nation. It is working as mercenaries in disguise of ‘the Taliaban’ and is being very well funded, trained and run by CIA with following aim:
    The salient are:
    • To carry out specific acts in disguise, in order to defame the cause of Taliban fighting in Afghanistan?

    • To keep the old sanctuaries in FATA live which were earlier used by Mujahedeen to show that Pakistan is under handily helping the Taliban since declared as enemy by United State.

    • To carry out suicidal attacks on military, police and other security targets with the aim that Pakistan forces and its security is under mined.

    • To spell the fear and terror in the masses and carry out all such acts which hampers the economies of this nation and Pakistan is seen as depleted.

Do you find above being demonstrated in our society on daily base?
and— Do you agree with the above or not?

Please reply so that we may proceed further-> ->

    Regards

  20. So many lives destroyed, It may be world Trade center, Afghanistan or Iraq but can we bring back the dead. Can we change anything, have anyone seen the poor Iraqi children crying on there mothers dead bodies. What did Iraq do, pay for its leaders crimes. Mr A Khokhar quoted a verse from Quran, we should go back and read it more carefully because today while America comitts atrocities everywhere there is a oil spell in its back yard. Taliban didnt do it, Pakistan didnt do it, Afghanistan didnt do it, Iraq didnt do it, Hezbollah didnt do it then who did it. A short term strategy may backfire but a a long term goal may give future prosperity. To become leader of the world one would need to bring economy stability in its empire, no empire can be made without its people and every empire fell because of its people.

Mc Crystal went out, if anybody did read his Bio he was a cowboy coming from a Texas Ranch just like Bush. He went out because his surge policy miserably failed and well it was Obama’s policy as well crystal was made the scape goat. The piece in the magazine was published at the right time when it was time for Crystal to go and Paetreus to be demoted to take over day to day Afghanistan operation. Why America cannot find a qualified person to lead the war in Afghanistan, 3 general’s left in 2 years. Taliban would be pleased with there performance and well Paetreus wont be a happy man. Karzai’s, Zardari’s, etc are all puppets who will not find a place to hide when its time. The oil is filling once beautiful beaches of florida, its not oil its blood of all those innocent men, women and children who lost there lives. Allah is supreme and we must read the book he has given us for guidance for that book gives us the right way.
