PML-N Taking Tough Action Against Fake Degree Holders
By Rohail Butt • Jun 18th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsThe self-righteous posture of Pakistan Muslim League led by Nawaz Sharif required from the onset that they showed zero tolerance towards the fake degree holders, though that is understandbly the culture of our feudal and landlord controlled rural politics.
Musharraf in his bid to introduce quality into the Pakistani politics blindly made it compulsory for the election contestants to hold B.A degree, as BA was some sort of guarantee that they would be all good kids. We all know what knowledge or skill a BA/BSc possesses. He cannot even get a decent job in Pakistan, but then perhaps becoming member of parliament doesn’t require that much decency.
So all those wealthy landlords, feudal and jagirdars got nicked. It was impossible for them to join school, do their matric, then FA, and then BA. They knew that they couldn’t do it in the lifetime, not even if they got second birth. All they were good at was threats, thuggery, manipulation and amassing wealth by sucking blood of the poor. They had enough money, and so they burned an iota of it and acquired the fake degree, and then joined Musharraf parliament and then the current parliament.
But now Supreme Court has started cracking down and these fakers are on the run, getting exposed one by one and humiliated publicly. Nawaz Sharif has done right to ask all of his members who have not yet got exposed to resign proactively. PPP and other parties should follow the suit.
As there is no compulsion of BA clause, so by all likelihood these people come back again in assemblies as they have wealth, power and dunda and pawa. But at lease PML-N wouldn’t be taking them in again. PML(N) Chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said his party will not award tickets to the candidates having fake education degrees in any of the future elections.
Let’ see.

Sorry, no marks to MNS. Who is he befooling with such somersaults? The nations remembers that just recently he fielded Naghma Mushtaq to contest the PP-206 by-polls on 5 Jun against the brother of PM despite the fact she had earlier resigned from the seat to avert disqualification due to holding fake degree.
Probably, he thinks that the nation is really fool to applaud him for his hypocrisies.
It is unfortunate that this poor nation is leaderless.
I appreciate the action, but I dare say that is not the solution to Corruption rising every day. Members of Election Commission must also be interrogated as to how were they made to accept fake degrees whether by hook or by crook. But the main problem are the loopholes in Pakistani Constitution which give a total protection to the crime & the criminal thus enabling this class to rule us & causing Pakistan to be accounted for in the most corrupt countries of the world.
