Plethora of Fiascos
By Fatima Tassaduq • Jul 28th, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,923 views) • One ResponseFiascos such as the CNG price mix-up or the bungled prime ministerial speech or now the misunderstanding of giving ISI under the command of interior ministry only shows us the tip of the icerberg. The ineptness and the dysfunctional orientation of this government runs deep.
The new government has proved utterly a failed bunch of idiots, who don’t have a clue as what to do when and where. Nobody knows who actually runs the government. Is it Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Prime Minister, or is it the Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of PPP, or is it the Rehman Malik, the interior advisor to Prime Minister? That and there is no vision whatsoever in any kind of policy or strategy this government is putting forward haphazardly.
The colossal failure of this new administration to tackle even the issues it should have been able to resolve by now, including those of the deposed judges, Impeachment of Musharraf and of missing people – has added to the perception that the setup is ill-chosen and nonadaptive.
People of Pakistan need to be convinced that their country is in the capable hands. At present, the fact is that many people within the country have doubts about this. May be the recent America-Yatra would help in boosting the confidence of the Prime Minister and he would come up with some bright ideas backed-up with us some concrete actions.
