Persona vs Systema

By Aftab Alam • Feb 6th, 2010 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 4 Comments

Since long the most considered conception the world over, particularly in the Muslim world has been - that a certain systema or Ismus is the foremost instrumental factor in ascending or descending of nations. The west therefore too has been more proud of their system (i.e. liberal democracy etc.) than their personas. But conclusion and account of history has been altogether different, rather counter. So the deductions this scribe has drawn from the very past as well as from the very present suggest vigorously - that it has always been the competency or otherwise of personas that determine the destiny of a nation. Even in the illusive prevalence of a certain system, it has always been a persona - which by realizing from the system, delivers and yields good to the respective nation or society. Thus throughout the history a certain persona has always been the nucleus, essence and kernel in the entire world class revolutions. Some system may have been there but in the periphery. If a persona fails or the failure is ascribed to a system in both the cases it uncovers solely the faults and flaws in the persona in the helm of affairs - in his way of virtual execution of a system, in the circumstances. Persona’s personal significance has been astounding and amazing. Hence in most of the cases simply due to the rarity of worthy personas - a very sound and profound system has failed to deliver. For instance, the Muslims as a single entity have been the most original nation of the world, in terms of resources as well as of their incomparable system. Nonetheless at present they are of no worth at all in the gamut of the nations - simply because of the scantiness of competent personas in the helm of affairs. Thus a nation does not die but its leaders do, simply.

If a system is supposed to be a soul and a person as a corporal body - then it will be easy to discern the vital distinction between the two. Thus if assume - howsoever stronger the soul (i.e. the system) itself might be - but if the incumbent corporal person thereto would be handicapped in terms of the mental capacity or other proficiency - the mere soul would never be able to deliver any good in this mostly corporal world. In the same way if a persona or a leader is incompetent, for any reasons, to materialize or actualize a system - and to put it in proper practice in the emerging circumstances - there would be a total failure - but simply of the leader or of the persona, not of the system. Because if a persona in the helm of affairs will be competent - then he would mould the system successfully - and cut that in the evolving circumstances accordingly, without any split and cleft in the letter and spirit thereof.

To draw and present a pedantic paradigm of Persona versus Systema - I divide the Muslim era into the following periods, after the unparalleled and unrivaled glorious Period of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW):

1- Caliphs the Righteous Period.

2- Ummayyad Period.

3- Abbasid Period.

1-Caliphs the Righteous Period:

It has been taken for granted the world over that Period: 1 has been the ideal one in the world history. Because we find that the personas (i.e.The Caliphs the Righteous) in the helm of affairs - as well as the prevailing system (i.e. Islam) in the helm of affairs both were exceptionally superb, exquisite and splendid. Those Personas were the best among the rest - but yet inter-se, here too the reflection of the personas may be perceived as palpably as are sensed the aroma of different flowers.

2- Umayyad Period:

In the Period-2, the Personas in the helm of affairs were not that pure graded as were their predecessors, hence the system was also contaminated, degraded, and reshaped by them for their own ends. Hence we come upon - that the veritable application of the system throughout that period had been directly proportional to the personas of the Ummayyad kings - and exactly the same were the outcomes in their reign.

3- Abbasid Period:

In the Period: 3 the personas as well as the system were not much different of the personas as well as of the system in period: 2, in real sense of the word - so no was the difference virtually between the outcomes, in those two periods. Though, the personas in the helm of affairs in the Period: 2 and Period:3 were not as becoming and candid as compared to their predecessors in terms of Islam - hence similar was their application of the system (i.e. Islam) in practice. But since they were comparably more competent personas than their predecessors (viz Umayyad Period) in terms of art of the governance - ergo those periods last for centuries successfully. But the moment the scarceness of competent personas appeared, every glory was lost accordingly. Hence it can therefore be substantiated so easily from the history as well as from the current time - that at particular point of time two or more absolutely contrasting systems have delivered and have been delivering extraordinarily and magnificently - simply because of the competence of their respective managers. I do not say nor I mean that a system is totally worthless, insignificant and is of no account at all - and that we should shun or throw away our system. I simply say that a competent persona can and an incompetent persona cannot run any system. Let say that all the mystery lies in the practical interpretation and implementation of a system in the constantly evolving and devolving circumstances of a nation. But how to carry out this uphill task has always been the real test, the real worth and the real mystery of the persona in the helm of affairs. The persona therefore always has a primary and the system always has but a secondary role to play. My stress and accentuate therefore actually is that a system has never been like a bulb - so that as soon as any ignorant mullah will simply push a button - and forthwith the light would begin to be sprouting out and stretching out in all directions. Most of the Muslim clergy have always been selling plainly this idea - and we the innocent public in general have always been buying the same due to our simplicity and naivety. So what I want to convey is - that if a persona behind a system is not competent in terms of political statesmanship as well as of his personal skillfulness and masterfulness in the rational and suitable application of the system in the given set of circumstances - no good would be delivered, rather, the system howsoever perfect that might be, would fall a victim to the persona. Indeed if both the system as well as the persona behind the system are splendid and outstanding - then that would be the impeccable and exemplary roll model of governance - as for instance the ideal combination of Caliphs the Righteous, along with the system of Islam had been.

The issue and aspect I, therefore want to bring forth is basically - to point out the decisiveness and dominance of character between a persona and a system in the making of a society, a nation, or an empire - and to put forward a virtual trial between the two. My averment and plea therefore plainly is to reveal and establish the priority and superiority of a persona over a system. Or in other words, the apt application by a competent persona and the misapplication by an incompetent persona of a system in the given set of circumstances would be absolutely contrasting - and absolutely so would be the consequences. A persona can stand in for a systema but a system cannot.  So a persona can overcome the deficiency of a systema but a systema cannot do the opposite, what I mean to say.

Islam is the Divine and Cure-All Religion indeed but still Allah the Almighty has always picked out only the worthiest personas for the most consecrated responsibility of the Prophethood. All of the Holy Prophets were the most all round competent personas. They had been caused to undergo a series of hard ordeals so as to be assessed their preparedness for the mission, had been assigned to them. All the Holy Prophets have been the best from the rest in terms of capability, integrity and rectitude. None of them has never ever shown any laxity in pursuit they had been chosen for. Many of them have endured many and extraordinary sacrifices simply because to be successful in the accomplishment of the task, they had been preferred for. The Allah Almighty therefore says in the Holy Qur’an, “LO! ALLAH PREFERRED ADAM AND THE NOAH AND THE FAMILY OF ABRAHAM AND THE FAMILY OF IMRAN ABOVE (ALL HIS) CEATURES.” (SURAH AL-IMRAN, 3: 33) But the rule of priority of persona vis-à-vis a systema has been so firm and resolute - that in spite of evangelizing for one and the same universal religion of Islam - their Personas reflection and fragrance had no exception therefrom, if judged by worldly standards.

Governance has always been inclusively a peerless art and entirely a different assignment, it has nothing much to do with the legitimacy or illegitimacy of a system.  For example a car will be working and running properly if that is driven by a competent chauffeur, irrespective the manufacturer of the car. And of course it will be running most properly, if its manufacture has also been original, genuine and accurate. That means that a veteran mechanic can run and operate even an obsolete vehicle to a large extent successfully - but on the other hand a lunatic and an ignorant to a vehicle would not be able to run even a contemporary one - notwithstanding howsoever sophisticated the vehicle might be. And if he did try to run it will be a total disaster for him, for the system and for all those coming across. Many in history have hugged the destiny without any vehicle - whereas many have hurled the vehicle instead. Exactly and similarly under the respective leadership of so many competent, seasoned and veteran leaders many nations have flourished tremendously within a relatively poor system or even without any specific system - but on the contrary many nations have perished or suffered immensely though they had excellent system with them, but for want of a proper persona for the operation thereof.

The reason for this ostensible contrast between the persona and systema comes out from the importance of the way of treatment, handling and practical interpretation that was being applied to the system - and then the way the system was being applied practically to the people. The examples of this paradox and contrast are so numerous that I can quote so much and so many thereof - so as to establish and elaborate the plea I have taken.

Right from the very primitive stage and till to this day of the contemporary world personas have been the most conclusive factors in the making of the histories of the various civilizations. As for instance;

Personas of Piankhy and Shabaka:

Africa is considered an acute barren continent in terms of progression - still very few know that in the modern day of Sudan, the Kingdom of Nubia or Cush (1000 BC. - 350 AD) had been one of the most ancient empires that lasted for centuries. That large Kingdom of Nubians grew up, in the murky most and the backward most continent only when some competent personas seized the power in that country. First Nubians gained footing in the Egypt of Pharaohs. Piankhy, the King of Nubia was the persona who conquered the Lower Egypt in 750 BC. After him his successor King, Shabaka conquered the rest of the Egypt - and thus established the 25th or Cushite dynasty with its capital at Memphis. This large Kingdom extended from Mediterranean south to the border with Ethiopia and into the modern day Uganda. Though with some drifting, this Kingdom persisted for many centuries. But all that distinction had been made simply by the distinction of their personas of Piankhy and Shabaka.

Persona of Cyrus the Great:

Cyrus the Great (590-529BC.) had made the start as a subdued and mediocre king of western Iran - but subsequently within no time, by defeating all the three erstwhile great powers, (i.e.; the empires of Media, Lydia, and Babylon) - he established and consolidated a vast and awesome empire. But all that was the reflection and splendor of his Persona, not of any particular system - because he had not altered even all the preceding system of laws and administrative rules which by them were of no worth before the Cyrus. So persona of Cyrus the great has gained all the credit in history for the magnificent job he accomplished. But the system prevailed in his reign finds no credit or mention even.

Persona of Alexander the Great:

Alexander the Great (356-323 BC.) had also proved his worth as a great Greek conqueror - and he was also very much successful to set up a vast empire - but this was also the maracle of his persona, not of any system. So when he died no system was there even to save the family of the great founder of the great empire - and hence soon after his death in the age of 32, his mother, wives and children were killed brutally. So the world knows about the skill of that wonderful conqueror precisely - but no one knows much about the system if any had been there.

Persona of Ashoka the Great:

Ashoka the great (300-232 BC.) was the grandson of Chandra Gupta, a Hindu who was the founder of first ever-vast Hindu Empire in Bharat. But Ashoka the great was far more successful than his forefathers - for, having maintained as well as further consolidated the first ever vast empire in Bharat.Though the administration of this huge empire was conducted from the very commencement of the empire in accordance with the ‘sacred laws, codified by Kautilya, (viz Chankya) a minister of Chandra Gupta, in 300 BC. But the vital difference was that of personas of Ashoka and his forefathers. Here I want to add a little more. As a matter of fact Hinduism has as a religion been the most brutal and inhuman entity - that has ever been seen in the world. Its giant ‘statue’ has been founded and erected exclusively, on the miserable lives of their own humble followers, i.e. Sudras. But nonetheless whenever a competent persona has been there in the helm of affairs, Hindus have also made a gain. Ashoka the great was a Buddhist convert - which further signified that religion was so immaterial and irrelevant for him - and so neither the Hinduism nor the Buddhism had ever played any decisive role in the establishment or consolidation of the mammoth empire of that time and kind. He proved his worth, while he was still a Hindu and he did so when he converted to Buddhism. So Ashoka the great finds every mention, credit and place - for establishing the great empire as well as for glorifying Buddhism in history - but Hinduism nor the Buddhism has any account therefor.

Persona of Ch’in Shih Huang Ti:

The Chinese Emperor, Ch’in Shih Huang Ti, (259-210 BC.) has been compared by historians with the Augustus Caesar, (63 BC. -14 AD) the founder of the ancient Roman Empire. But most properly Ch’in Shih Huang Ti has played the same role as Peter the great had for the Russia. Here too we find that persona prefers and prevails over the system. Hence the history has saved only the persona of the emperor. Even if somehow a system or some steps or tips have ever been applied in the given circumstances - the decisive tread has always been the practical application of that system or of those steps in a country - which also has always been directly proportional to the skill of the personas in the helm of affairs. So the history remembers only the persona of the Emperor, who propelled his country to the glory and pride.

Persona of Constantine the Great:

Constantine the Great (337-280 AD.) was the first ever-Christian king of Rome. He did for Christianity what Ashoka did for Buddhism. When he appeared on the world arena, Christianity was the humble most religion of the day - and that was only after his conversion to Christianity - that the later flourished due to conducive policies of the former, towards Christianity. So it was the persona again who not only gave a lasting boost to the religion of Christianity, in a furthest way to a system - but also established a lasting Roman Empire. So it can be said that a persona can even give boost to a religion, in a remotest way to a system - if he has the requisite caliber or competence. So it was Constantine the great who elevated the religion and not the vice versa.

Persona of Alaptagin and, Subaktagin:

After the Arabs, Alaptagin, a Tartar Muslim, the king of Kabul - with his capital at Ghazni, was the first who engaged the Hindu kingdom of Raja Jeypal, of Punjab and Kashmir, in 973AD, though unsuccessful. Most famous Kings of this dynasty have been Mahmood of Ghazni and Muhammad Ghori who respectively extended and consolidated a vast Muslim Empire in the Indian subcontinent - extended from the Indus valley to the Jumna and Kanauj on the north and to Katiawar in the south - and subsequently Peshawar and the whole Punjab were also included in that vast Muslim Empire. Now Islam, of course was the soul and spirit, all those Kings individually had been enlightened and energized with - but the way they applied that enlightenment and energy and demonstrated that soul and spirit of Islam in practice - made them distinctive and distinguished from the rest. Putting things in practice properly has always been the actual secret, strength and test of a persona. Since again, the personas of those Kings were capable to qualify this acid test - which is the actual decisive force and strength, so they were capable to prove their worth accordingly. This delicate but decisive distinction can even be witnessed in the strategies of that dynasty. Alaptagin was the person who made the first attempt to conquer the above-mentioned kingdom of Raja Jeypal but he failed. Subsequently his successor, Subaktagin invaded and conquered the Hindu kingdom. So here we view the distinction, importance and mystery of personas, in the helm of affairs - and the mystery of proper application and improper-application of a system if any had been there. Slaves can become the masters and the ruled the rulers if competent.

Persona of Tamerlane the Great:

In the end of 14th century Tamerlane the great appears indeed with some spirit - but virtually without any definite or specific system. He commenced to demonstrate his presence on the world scene from central Asia - and having proved the mystery of his persona he laid down the first foundation stone of the formidable Mughal Empire - stretching out from the Oxus to Persia, Turkistan, Afghanistan and India. Here again no one can claim that some sort of system or even an ideology had been playing any decisive role in his conquests. Had that been the case his vast empire would have not been parceled out by his descendants and disbanded after his death. But again when Babar, the grandson of Tamerlane had the mystery of persona he started from the small principality of Farghana - and after having conquered and overcome the whole India - he succeeded to establish the great Mughal Empire in the real sense of the word, which survived for over two centuries. But during those two centuries the status and contour of that impressive Mughal Empire had always been directly proportional, through out its permanence - to the worth and contour of personas of the respective successor kings. The more capable were the persona of a king the more outstanding was the outcome.

A time reached when the system was there inclusively with the entire zenith, in India - but a worthy and competent persona was not there anymore - so just after the death of Auranzeb Alamgir, that mighty empire crumbled down simply due to the incompetence of the successor kings. Though Aurangzeb Alamgir was the first amongst the Mughal kings who had sorted out somehow more Islamic system - and he reigned for round about 49 years, the longest period than ever ruled over by his any predecessor. But yet with the tragic demise of the Emperor, the tragic decay of the Empire also commenced within the short span of time. Of course he was a Muslim but his successors, his own offspring were also not less than Muslims - and actually were better Muslims at least than Akbar the great, the founder of altogether a new religion, “deen-e-ilahi”. Nevertheless Akbar the great as a ruler was far more successful than many comparatively better Muslims among the dynasty. Some sort of systems had always been there throughout out in their reign of the Mughal kings - but those systems were far less instrumental as compared to their personas, in the establishment of the kingdoms.

Persona of the Genghis Khan:

Their rival chieftains killed Tamugen’s father and he himself was detained as a captive. His father was an ordinary Mongol chieftain. Tamugen took the start in the most disappointing circumstances surrounded by all haplessness and hopelessness. But again as that has always been, his persona worked and he became the most formidable king as Genghis Khan (1167-1227AD.) - who reigned the first ever vast empire, comprised of China, Russia, Iran, Baghdad, India, Afghanistan, Korea, Tibet, Germany, Hungry and Poland. But all that historic success was due to his charismatic or awesome persona and was not the aftermath of any particular system.

Persona of Peter the Great:

When Peter the great took over as a king, Russia was far more backward than Europe - in respect of all values and references. Peter received the gigantic Czarist Empire with no specific legacy in the terms of some workable system. So first he made the correct diagnosis, though Peter the great (1672-1725 AD.) made the start in more cloudy and shady circumstances. When he took over as a King of his country - he started the practical voyage for the practical therapy of his country. Now the way out he picked out for the search of practical remedy - and there after for its practical application to the protracted sick Russia at that juncture - signified his persona and bestowed him an extraordinary edge over his predecessors and others. So history proclaims only him and his persona, with the distinction, “the great” among the Czars of the Russia. We can therefore say that without Peter the Great, perhaps moving of the Russia could have been made possible - but without him, recovery of Russia was not possible. For, he was the right person in the right place, who adopted a novel and the most suitable way out for the treatment of the ailing country.

Without any fear of contradiction, Islam has been the only complete, performable and practicable system and code of life - so much so that even minute details of life have been prescribed and described - theoretically as well as practically with a precise and profound accuracy and authority. But notwithstanding of this reality, since Islam has been coming across with a variety of follower personas in the helm of affairs - so it has been with the variety of outcomes accordingly. Whenever Islam has been in the hands of wise guys and they have applied it smartly and proficiently - it has given a tremendous glory, peace and pride to its followers - all over the world and throughout the history. But whenever this great religion came to the wrong hands - they either failed to apply or misapplied, intentionally or unintentionally - and so they came up with the results accordingly. Howsoever effective a medicine might be but if it is administered to a chronic patient by a deranged person it may bring havoc to the patient. The same is the case with Islam, indeed it is the most effective cure for all kinds of ills, provided it is not administered by a lunatic and insane persona - who does not and cannot understand the instructions and injunctions prescribed by The Allah Almighty.

After examining thoroughly each and every civilization as will as religion, there would appear a principal force of a persona - who has established and/or has been establishing the destiny of the respective civilization and religion. At present the following are the major states or regions with different religions, civilizations and systems, e.g.

Order: 1-The USA, Australia, The UK, France, Germany, and other European and western countries.

Order: 2- Russia, China, Japan.

Order: 3- Korea (south), Malaysia. Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and others of the kind.

Order: 4- South Africa and Other African countries.

Order: 5- Pakistan.

Order: 6- Iran.

Order: 7- Arab countries.

Order: 8- Indonesia, Malaysia and other Muslim countries.

Order: 9-Turkey.

Order: 10- Bharat.

These countries and regions have been representing a diversity of religions, civilizations as well as systems right from the outset. The countries placed in order: 1 and 2 have been the rollmodels of their respective contrasting systems - within as well as inter-se, since long. Now in fact, neither they can claim nor in fact we can admit that their systems have ever been ideal - but because they have been giving birth more competent, proficient, cognizant, agile, rational and prudent personas for the governance - hence these countries have been on the top since long - irrespective of the absolute contrast in their religions and systems. Russia with some fluctuation has also been more or less a world power - during the reign of three most contrasting systems, have been there, i.e. imperialism, communism and now a strange mixture of the two - for, presently there is no specific system but simply a state of ambivalence - and in spite of the appalling fact - that Russia has also taken the three terrible summersaults of 180 degrees - in terms of systems within the twentieth century. Similarly so have been the Chinese. They were excellent in the imperialism of the competent emperors - as well as in the sheer communism of the competent communists - and now they are excellent, even in the reformed mixture of communism and capitalism of the competent reformists. And those Chinese have also been excellent in the sheer capitalism of the competent capitalists in the tiny island of Taiwan.

The countries placed in Order: 3 are very small ones in terms of territories - but their economies and advancement are far better than Pakistan as well as the bulky Bharat. The difference has been simply of personas in the helm of affairs.

The Africa is a huge continent comprised of numerous countries but currently with the exception of a single country, South Africa - that had been in occupation of wise guys, Competent European Settlers - so it gives totally a different picture. Whereas the rest of the countries in Africa, (with exception of ancient Egypt of Pharaohs and ancient kingdom of Nubia) have never been of any worth, though they have been exceptionally rich in terms of natural resources.

The countries placed in Order: 5 to 8 are though Muslim countries and with an assortment of systems - still none of them has been able - simply to play the role of a core state, individually or even collectively, despite the extraordinary territories, resources and potentialities they have. Their political personas have been so somber and incompetent - and are so corrupt morally on one hand and bankrupt intellectually, on the other - that they even could not unite to place and press outwardly the demand - for a single permanent seat of security council in the UN, on behalf of over one billion Muslims. Their OIC is simply, O, I see. The carts-draggers do have a common spokesman for their cause, but these countries-draggers do not have that at least. They have been simply sitting idle and loiter. We are overwhelmed and stunned - when we throw a glance over the unlimited and formidable resources of the imaginary Muslim World. Either we look in terms of the strategically, well-located large territories, with the colossal populations - and their branch out skills, spreading throughout the globe. Or in terms of omni-sort natural resources of paramount importance (e.g.; oil, gas, gold, uranium, coal reservoirs and other huge ores of branch out mineral wealth) - coupled with the military capabilities, enormous surfeit capitals assets - and world class scientists and experts in the all known fields of life. An arranged number of ‘fanatics’ is also an asset, provided they are tamed and canned wisely. Moreover all forms of systems have ever been known, have also been applied, tested and scraped. Nonetheless all the Muslim countries are being hammered and humiliated constantly - and they are languishing and wasting away tranquilly in all parts of the world, but for what reason? Simply because, for the dearth of competent personas in their helm of affairs. They have all but worthy personas.

In regard of Pakistan I want to add a little more. I simply present a few living examples to show the magic of personas. For instance;

Jamat Islam (JI) and PPP:

First, we take the case of JI and PPP as two rival political parties merely for the purpose of illustration. JI has been in politics since 1946 - but since then the politics has been a zero sum game for them in terms of their alleged Islamic Revolution. Though the former is to have Islam, (I accept no responsibility for the report) a well-established administrative system, staggering literature and a huge cadre of chili like shrewd and witty workers, a 1000-watt each. On the contrary PPP has taken the start more recently without any regulatory system, literature or disciplined workers. They have also proved repeatedly that they were not committed to any specific system or ideology, still PPP as a political entity has been on the top. What is the difference between them, which has been so decisive, conclusive and enigmatic? The difference between them has been simply in the competence of their Personas, in terms and to the extent of political expertise only, in the helm of affairs.

Persona of A.Q.Khan:

Second, we all are well aware of the “capabilities” of our Pakistani political elites - so much so that during Nawas regime - after handing over the handling of WAPDA, the Issue of gangsterism and racketeering in Sind, the Karachi Crises, the Railways etc. - they were also considering to handover the management of flour distribution to the Army. Nonetheless in a country of this mess a singular Persona declared to up the esteem of the nation (i.e. the nation, the bureaucrats whereof would demolish the home of the later in Bani Gala) on one hand - and contain the belligerent Bharat on the other - and he did so. Thus the country that was unable to distribute the flour detonated six nuclear devices. This is known as the maracle of persona, i.e. A.Q.Khan.

Persona of Jahangir Khan:

Third, The country which had neither virtually owned the training facilities, organizations nor a single squash court of international standard, gave birth a persona, Jahangeer Khan (who would be retired compulsorily and unceremoniously by the heavy weight bureaucrats, from service) - who reigned the kingdom of squash for years - same were the persona of Jan Sher Khan. Now there are a number of Squash Courts of international standard along with a good deal of Funds, Sponsors, Organizations, Federations, Bureaus - and all but a competent persona.

State of swat in Pakistan:

Fourth, likewise the former state of Swat was considered a Switzerland of Asia, both inside the country as well as outside - when it was a ‘state’ - in spite of its meager resources. But the day it was merged in the Pakistan in 1969, it was probably simply submerged. Since then all of its treasures and pleasures (i.e.; forests, emerald mines, rivers, natural water channels, environment, roads, beauty and peace) have been plundered or destroyed savagely. After the morose merger, though resources have increased relatively and a multitude of departments, offices, police stations, check posts, bureaus, commissions, courts and agencies have also been established. The battalions of well-or-illtrained and horrendous bureaucratic officials have also rushed in. Hon’ble Judges are too many to count, along with a jungle of statutes, ordinances, rules, notifications, circulars and regulations. The Shari regulation of 1994 and that of 1999 are apart. Nevertheless, entire Swat has been ruined roundly. So the once most beautiful valley of Swat is now considered the archaic ruins of Gandhara Civilization. The basic reason for the two contrasting facet of Swat has been the competence and incompetence of the personas in the helm of affairs before and after the merger thereof.

Turkey has been bewildering in the search of her identity in terms of religion as well as region - since a long time, hence swinging and suffering constantly of chronic ambivalence. She has done and abandoned all - and has been doing and abandoning all - simply for the procurement of the much after-sought membership of European Union - but after years long waiting and begging most humbly, She is still being humiliated in the door of the forum. She is neither being given the alms nor the answer - but she like an audacious and hard-eyed beggar not willing to budge. The acute sterility and infertility of the Muslim Ummah in terms of competent personas has been the only ‘CAUSE’ of their centuries long humiliation and multi facet sufferings.

So for Bharat is concerned, apart from their swollen and so called democracy - they have been giving a show thereof after the partition - the system that has ever been prevailed there, is the exacerbate kind of apartheid, (i.e. the caste system) in the real sense of the word. If any enthusiast wants to know about the worth of their dharma (i.e.; Hinduism) he ought to ask from Sudras - they called them outcaste, who are one third of the total Hindu population. Yet merely because of some better personas, as compared to ours, in the helm of affairs - Bharat also has been, more or less moving forward.

Islam of course has been a wonderful panacea and a universal cure - provided it is administered by a competent persona - and if it is administered by jeer and sneer doctors like Talibans, Osamas or others of the kind it will be of counter productive - rather disastrous, ruinous and abortive. All the highest glories have been made possible simply because of the highest efforts of the greatest personas - and all the worst holocausts have also been the aftereffects of the evil doings of the lowest personas throughout the history. Living instances of the lowest personas are numerous hence no need to dive back in the remote history, e.g;

Persona of Saddam:

i- Evil Persona of Saddam has been the first ever ‘Lucifer the great’ who managed so successfully - to unite all the Christians Catholics, Christians Protestants, Christians Orthodox, Jews, Russians, Japanese, Buddhists, Hindus of all over the world - along with the Islamic world and the Sinic (SINAEAN - Chinese) - for the first time in world history - in the ‘holy’ coalition against his own dejected people. And submitted the whole and the most sensitive Muslim region to the only satanic world player and power. This is the classic model of a secular devil.

Persona of Osama:

ii- Another devil persona of ‘USAma’ was not lesser evil than the former. He also managed more successfully - to unite all the most diversifying religions as well as regions - for the second time in the world history, against his own most host country - in another ‘holy’ coalition. And presented another most sensitive Muslim region to the same satanic world player and power - but himself still living and running. No system whatsoever can be criticized for the evil doings of the two devils personas. For, none of them have had either any system or any system could ever deliver this kind of breed. This is the classic model of a sanctimonious devil. They were much different in getup but much similar in setup as well as sets of mind.

On both these disastrous occasions for the whole utopian ‘Ummah,’ the same outfits of the lunatics and fanatics were bandwagoning along side the ‘two devils the great’- much miserably but much ironically too - for, this bunch has never been seen united - even in the matter of praying together.  But the largest populations generally have the largest proportions of every evil. We the Muslims all over the world have been agonizing from the acute deficit of competent personas in terms of the statecraft for a longer period of time. Hence have been swinging constantly like a pendulum between the outfits of the clergy and of the secularists, with a strange dilemma. One is so worse than the other that relying on one makes the other look saintly. For, both have been incompetent and so every system would fall a prey to them. Both of them are excellent experts in diverging ‘us’ (i.e.; Muslims) and converging ‘them’ (i.e.; others) against ‘us’. A Persona in the helm of affairs may make heaven if competent and may bring havoc if else. A system has been only a means of transport for a persona - the better the way he applies the system in - makes the quicker his journey and the nearer his destiny.

The aspiration that led me to submit this account is a verse of the Holy Book, Al-Qur’an, I had been thinking upon since a long period of time. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah the Almighty Order has been, “VERILY ALLAH COMMANDS THAT YOU TO MAKEOVER TRUSTS TO THOSE WORTHY OF THEM”. (SURAH NISA 4 - 58). Here all the Divine Emphasis has been in the worth of personas - while they are being chosen for the trusts among the Muslims. It has never and nowhere been mentioned to handover the power - either to the ignorant clergy - or other ignorant and incompetent segments of the society or nation. Because before the Allah Almighty, competence has been the foremost criteria - particularly in respect of leading and governing of a society, nation and the world at large. This is why that all the Holy Prophets have been passed through the experiences of administration, in one way or the other. Islam has been the only live and universal religion - hence no hard and fast rules have been prescribed, regarding the form of government. So as to keep the Muslims enabling universally to carry out their affairs - according to the contour of the appearing and evolving circumstances within the tenets of Islam. For, neither a living being nor even a vehicle can maintain one gear, in the intricate boulevard of life. And for, nothing so far has been found inert in the whole universe - but yes, exceptions are everywhere, with the exception of the Muslim clergy, mostly.

A system is like an instrument and a Persona like a utilizer takes the advantage thereof - but according to his dexterity. Or say a system is like a vehicle and a persona like a driver derives the advantage therefrom - but according to his agility. Now surely Islamic System has been the unmatched, the unequaled - and has ever been the only best salvation system for obtaining the highest glory and destiny, in this life as well as in the hereafter. Islam has been the natural code of life - hence is in full consonance with the natural laws, have been prevailing in the whole cosmos. Islam has been a God Given Gift, for His entire creatures - hence it is creatures-friendly, indiscriminatory, the easiest to follow and the comfortable most to absorb. Islam is a highly sophisticated religion and all-inclusive, hence a rewarding one. Those who provide it with implements according to the Divine Prescriptions for attaining the destiny - it has never disillusioned any one. Islam as a system has been the first ever and the only one - which has always been exalting its followers, provided political-trusts are handed over to those who are competent thereof. But the prime question is how the Islamic System can be carried out in all walks of life - practically as a political system - in the continuously replacing and substituting circumstances - for the purpose of collective salvation, as a nation? So it is the real domain where both the will as well as the skill have always been indispensable. Both have been as vital as are soul and body-corporal, for a living being. It is what, which has always been the real test of the persona in the helm of affairs. Non-believers may not have the belief that Allah the Almighty has created sun - but still they know how to be benefited therefrom, hence they have been benefiting. On the other hand the Muslims do believe that the Almighty Allah has created sun - but they do not know how to bring in use the immense energy thereof - hence they have not been benefiting therefrom.

One thing has been thought provoking rather mind haunting - when we fell ill personally, we are looking for a brilliant Doctor - when we want to plead our case in the court of Law, we are looking for a glimmering Lawyer - when we want to construct simply a dwelling house we are looking for a renowned Architecture. Likewise when we want to appoint a person simply for driving our car, first we always make sure - that whether he is of sound mind and has the skill, competence and license required therefore. Only thereafter we handover the car to him. But when we are going to find out a person for cruising the ship of over 140 millions Muslims on board and for resolving their most complicated affairs - we don’t care at all, rather many of us are always looking for an ignorant and habitual clergy - who has nothing to do with the task and has been the most unaware stuff in the society. No one can deliver well and virtue to a society without knowledge. Allah the Almighty therefore has distinguished, preferred and held superior the Adam (AS) to the angels merely because of the competence and the knowledge, He bestowed upon Adam (AS).

Clergy of every religion - not alone of ours -whether, they are Priests of Christianity, Rabbis of Judaism, Swamis of Hinduism, have been the most cruel and brutal bullies. Our clergy scraped and scratched our system. If ‘others’ are our smart enemy - then surely, they are our ‘stupid enemy’.  Islam was a source of strength and solidarity for us - which they converted into a source of disadvantage and dissipation for us. We have been witnessing and observing constantly - that each customary member of the clergy with a different head-cover on his head having a different Shariah in his head. Therefore each conventional member of clergy of the sort is a source of extremism, sectarianism and terrorism in each street of our society. They have converted the Muslims into Shiites, Sunnis, Devbandies, Brelvies, Ahli Hadees, Tableeghies, Sapah-e-Sahaba, Sapah-e-Mohammad, Janghavees, Panjpeeries, Jamaatees, Jamiatees, Mujaddidees, Rubbanies and Talibans etc. etc. - according to the head covers they are having on their heads and the restrictive thinking beneath thereof. They can neither pray together, fast together, celebrate Eid together, and nor even do jihad together. Together they can accomplish only one job - to be at loggerheads and at each other’s throats, throughout. Their brains are as rigid as granite and words as explosive as grenades. They speak as if some most annoyed or madden dragons breath. This vocal minority has a tongue longer than the Bharat’s Agni, hence extremely enormous and extremely disastrous in risks for ‘us’ - and does not at all for ‘them’. Pakistanis have never ever got so anxious about the prithvies, trishuls, agnies, dhanush and brahmos of Bharati Hindus. All the peril to Islam and the country has been from within, not from the out. We the Muslims and Islam both therefore, have always been falling victims to them acutely. This has been the tragedy and catastrophe of the Muslim Ummah throughout the history. And an end is a must to be given to this chilling apathy on the part of silent majority. We must not forget that almost it has been the competency that always has the currency alone in moulding the destiny of a nation in this life as well as in the hereafter since long.

  1. What a load of non sense. Another conspiracy theorist trying to rewrite history to suit author’s devious ulterior motives.

    Author blowing its own trumphet.

  2. Well, you have got a point there, Mr. Aftab, but is it applicable in today’s circumstances? I am afraid, not.

  3. @aftab alam;
    Well done!
Thank you for proving through a lesson in history that religion is better practiced at a personal level and that the state should stay out of religion.
We must have separation of church and state. Fortunately after decades of Military rule we do have democracy with an assembly, president and a free supreme court. NRO has at least been identified as “National Rape Ordinance”. Democracy is not perfect but at least it gives us a chance to select our leaders for a predetermined term.

Pakistan in spite of dictatorships was pointed in the right direction prior to Zia -UL-Haq’s slamization and voluntary involvement in the Afghan war.
Islamization has destroyed us culturally and made us into a nation of very angry peop
