PCO Judges of Nov. 3
By Salman Mugsi • May 4th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 2 Comments •As a trade-off, Pakistan Muslim League-N has agreed with Pakistan People’s Party to include the Nov. 3 PCO judges along with the restoration of the deposed judges on Nov. 3, who refused to take oath from Musharraf under PCO.
This was the last resort for the PML-N to save Pakistan Democratic Alliance coalition. Zardari wanted to have Justice Abdual Hameed Dogar on board at every cost, as he is the man who has granted him the blessing of NRO and the abolishment of B.A degree clause.
When white and dark would be mixed up in the Apex Court, things will surely get tricky, and besides this is not fair. People refuse to recognise as lawful judges those appointed under the Provisional Constitution Order after declaration of emergency on Nov 3. These were the judges who said ‘Yes’ to dictator and adopted doctrine of necessity and granted protection to the illegal acts of a dictator.
These PCO judges of Nov. 3 cannot be equalized with the judges who have said ‘No’ to the dictator and who have suffered through Draconian tactics. Thousands of lawyers have struggled hard for the reinstatement of judiciary which was deposed on Nov. 2 by the dictator and not for those who came under the safety of PCO umbrella in Emergency Plus.

nothing will change .. everything will remain the same .. independent judiciary will not but positive mindset and hard work will change the law and order of pakistan
Nothing can be said for sure in this country. I don’t see it likely possible that the deposed judges would like to work as one with the PCO judges, nor would the lawyers accept this.
