Pardesi Leaders : Desi Awam : Silver Lining

I still remember the tall claims made by Mian Nawaz Sharif, the chief of Pakistan Muslim League from London, when he was in exile that how desperate he was to come home among his own people and how dire he was feeling by not servicing his nation any more, and how badly he wanted to render his services to the people, once again.

I can clearly recall the painful cries of the late Benazir Bhutto, the former chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party about her agony in her self-imposed exile, and her yearning for coming back to her own people as soon as possible and her pining for the chance to service the masses once again.

Right now, nothing is ideal for the nation, nothing at all. A formidable dictator is reeking in the President House, while uncertainty is the order of the day in tribal region and many of the settled areas of NWFP, and Balochistan is slipping out of hand steadily with militancy and food soldiering on the rise. Economy is in shambles and has gone beyond the point of melting down. Social pillars are shuddering and shortages of basic commodities of life are threatening the lives of the common people, who voted on 18th February for change, and didn’t know that they were hoping against hope.

Well, while we sulk and suffer here, our leadership is out of the country for a change and to get themselves refreshed to rule the hapless creatures in this hapless country.

  • Asif Ali Zardari is in Dubai after visiting Turkey, Greece and London
  • Nawaz Sharif in in London
  • Prime Minister was in Malaysia and now in Dubai
  • The whole cabinet of Prime Minister is in Dubai
  • Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan is in London
  • Farooq H. Naek is in London
  • Speaker National Assembly Fehmida Mirza is in Saudi Arabia
  • Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro is in the United States
  • Hina Rabbani Khar and Rehman Malik, the advisors to PM are also in Dubai
  • Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has gone to the United States
  • Chaudhary Shujaat is about to go to Spain

And you call them leaders? What their absence tell us? Even this has got a silver lining. This means that presence or absence of these idiotic clowns doesn’t make a damn difference, and country could go without them, and we do not need them.

What we need is a true leader, who kicks the Musharraf out of Camp Office, who shun all these double standard politicians, and who harmonize the country from Karachi to Khyber, and who keeps all the institutions including army, judiciary, legislature and executive at their respective places, and who revolutionarize the way Pakistanis go about their lives. We need leaders and not parasites.
