Pakistan’s 9/11

The horrendous attack on the Marriott Hotel Islamabad which resulted in massive death and loss is being termed as the 9/11 of Pakistan. First, it’s not the race of which blast and attack is more deadly and which is not, and secondly there have been more deadly and wide-scale attacks in Pakistan in different cities.

Just last month more than 200 people died in Wah Cantt in twin suicide attacks and more than 500 got injured and then there were attacks in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Kohat, Quetta and other cities. Just terming the Marriott Hotel blast the most horrendous blast just because the elite was present there is not fair, and blasts are condemnable.

If it was the 9/11 of Pakistan then in America when 9/11 happened, the President Bush, the whole of cabinet and the top leaders left all of their works and engagements and they zeroed in to the 9/11. With in hours they devised a new strategy and that strategy is at the forefront of American policy since then, and they have toppled the world for it, and they are not hearing any second thing about it.

When 9/11 of Pakistan happened, the president just said some words in blabbings and then left for the America with the top leadership of PPP, and Prime Minister after releasing press statements went on to inaugurate the next building in Lahore, and there was not a squeal from the opposition and then they say that it was the 9/11 of Pakistan?

  1. 9/11 in America just lasted for one day only!

But after that; it is seven years down; that one day of 9/11 for us has not yet finished.

  2. It won’t finish in Pakistan because that 9/11 was planned for Pakistan actually, not for USA.
