I think the author of this article is taking a very one sided approach. It sounds to me more like a Fox Report rather then something i expected from TPS. This rise in bias is obscuring our ability to be just in our analysis of the events. We also dont support anyone who tries to harm our country and will always work for its intersts but then we should also not forget that presenting just one sided picture of Waziristan crises and the Pakistani Taliban dilemma will only result in pro longing of civil war (yes i do call it civil war sometimes and not war on terror).
I have always been telling the people from other provinces that the War in Waziristan is less of a Jihad and more of a War of Revenge, which tribals have always fought wel and fought it to their last drop of blood and history is our witness to it. Even the government sources confirmed my this claim by presenting the statements of the suspected assasins of Benazir Bhutto. One of prime suspect took the step in revenge for the killing of his brother in the famous Lal Masjid episode. A relative of mine and a resident of the famous Mirali town narrated to me a story in which approximately 100 Muslims belonging to both Army and Tribals got killed just because of misunderstanding between them. If you have ever closely studied the mentality of tribal people, you will agree with me that they truly follow the notion that revenge is best served when cold so no matter what happens, they will not forget this for decades and will keep targeting those who committed these acts.
Lastly, you said that Baithullah Masud was cornered in the recent fight and gave a look as if he begged for negotiations, i just wonder if the army was so close to killing him and destroying his network, what was the motivation for it to agree to his peace deals? It just mean either we have a collections of fools sitting at the top of army who can't even understand such a simple logic or is it that the army was itself looking for a graceful wayout of the crises with mounting casualities everyday. I am sure anyone who has been to these tribal areas will ask a question about the rational of using the Tanks in the mountaineous areas of South Waziristan? This shows the desperation of army and the level of resistance it is facing.
Also note that we have used all available options with us and fought with tanks, gunships, our airforce but we are still unable to defeat them so it do sounds to me that either we have been wasting billions of dollars on our army or is it that we are fighting ourselves and the defeat will only result in an even more disfigured and smaller Pakistan with only one or two provinces left?
At the end, i would again repeat that i dont hate our army and my patriotism shouldnt be doubted but i don't agree on the means used to reach our goals and the rhetoric that people are using these days.
This type of rhetoric should be saved for our enemies and not for the members of our family, our tribal brothers, in case we believe in peace and in keeping our country together in one peace. All is said in good faith.

I don't think there is any copy, paste is here at TPS. Because you will not see any news flash here rather a deep thoughtful content.

Many bloggers cut and paste, do you mean at TPS? Sorry I dont think so. Sometimes they do (but very occasionally) copy the news (I repeat only news) from other sites and give the source for it. Otherwise you would find 99% content on TPS purely original.

take care.

Ghazala;

Excellent article.

I was wondering how long it would take for peace to besabotaged. A week ago when we heard that a peace agreement had been signed, I wrote "how long before a drone sabotages this agreement too".

I suspect the drone has arrived.

In other developments, Ch Pervez Ilahi is working fevereshly with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and others to get Maulvi Aziz released.WIthdrawl of the army, and release of Aziz was key demand of the suicide bombers.

PS: I notice that many bloggers simply cut and past the stories from newspapers...this clutters up the Spectator and reduces its value to the bloggers who work hard to create new content.
