Pakistan Was Saved From Yet Another Martyr
By Sameer Shaharyar • Sep 3rd, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • One Response •Thankfully, with the blessing of Allah poor Pakistanis were saved from yet another martyr of democracy. In one decade one martyr is enough, and we have gotten the martyr of this year. I wonder, had that alleged sniper found his target, which building in Rawalpindi would be named after our would-be-dear-departed Prime Minister?
That assassination attempt over Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was just an eye wash. A flop, flimsy and pathetic typical agency-style ploy to divert the attention of media and people from the today’s United States blatant and brutal attack in FATA. United States troops came without asking any body in broad day light, landed in the Angorada, Waziristan and killed women, children and ordinary men folk without discrimination and mercy. They also briefly interrogated with torture from the ordinary tribal men, and then killed them before boarding their choppers.
Pakistani authorities and our macho interior advisor and the super cop Rehman Malik has no answer to this and he hasn’t got the nerve to even condemn seriously with his United States masters. How could PPP stalwarts even bleat in front of masters in Washington when they owe their every breathe to the pentagon. The army has already left the field for the rulers, and they are just waiting for the orders, but orders are not going to come.
Cut this crap of assassination attempt upon the premier. This hogwash buncombe has already run it’s course.
