Pakistan Premier League in 2009

After Indian Cricket League and Indian Premier League, Pakistan Cricket Board has also naturally gone on to start their own premier league starting from next year, and have asked for franchises from the city and regional teams.

The PCB would enhance the current ongoing national Twenty20 champion ship and would get sponsors for it and would extend it to include the foreign players. PCB has already been assured by some Indian tycoons of their support in sponsorship.

Commercialization of the game is now a reality and that cannot be kept out of the game anymore, and resisting or refuting it would only push the resister back in the race.  So PCB had to go for this, and the sooner the better.

What Pakistan needs right now is the influx of mass talent into the team. Right now Pakistan lacks talent in every facet of the team right now. There are more controversies rather than then the performances. The Pakistan Premier League would certainly help in boosting the falling passion of cricket in the country, and would help bring in the new and fresh talent in the team.

    I highly doubt that such a league would work in Pakistan (mind you, i am not saying that it should not), for various reasons;
    1. Mixed reactions with the Indian IPL. Some say it is a hype with organizers giving away free tickets
    2. Many Players not wanting to come to pakistan to take part in it, due to insecurity.
    3. Lack of infratructure.
    4. Pakistan cant/wont have that magnet factor/cheerleaders to add glamour. UNLESS they piss off the mullas. In that case, go back to #2

    On a side note, I honeslty think that IPL is way too long - 6 weeks.

    I think is good idea, PPL must be held in 2009, due to this most of new talent in Pakistan will rise and catch the PCB selectors’s eyes and infrstructure of domestic cricket will be developed.
    Initially many companies are intresting to buy frenchises of creicket teams.
    The players will not reluctent to come Pakistan, if they offered handsome amount like India, they will not care the matter of security.
    There are beautiful grounds and passionfull crowd. The people will co operate and provide full support to the organizor of league and with teams .

    We have outclass alternate of magnet factor/cheerleaders to add glamour are LIVE STAGE MUJRA of Nargis.

    Its good but it requires sincere efforts and right planning which our country on a whole lacks. They can’t organize event like Indian IPL because first, Pakistan is going to be follower and secondly, Pakistan viewer is not so big as India have. People won’t enjoy it also because too many same kind of events looses interests and people can’t give time to IPL, ICL, APL and then PPL. Australia has also announced and soon we will find other countries on same track too. Do you think, people will give time to all and when people won’t take full interest then companies won’t invest also. Indian are crazy about Cricket but our generation is grazy of SMS, CHATING, GAMES, DATINGS and SEX in runnign time. They only runs after opposite genders and nothing else. No vision, No targets…

    Its difficult for pakistan to organize IPL kind in Pakistan. If we could manage our own regular ICC series at home that is fine.Lot of Money is required for this and where from this money will come.We shouldn’t do whatever Idia do.

    I think it is good idea, because it is necessary to improve Pakistan image in world. my small suggestion to PCB, in Pakistan Premier League every province participate minimum three different cities teams, like
    Sindh province Karachi, Hyderabad & Sukkur, Punjab province Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, NWFP province Peshawar, Abottabad & FATA, Baluchistan province Quetta, Ziyarat & Gawadar also include Islamabad and Azad Kashmir Teams.
