Pakistan Election 2008 : I Plead You to Vote
By Ghazala Khan • Feb 18th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics • (795 views) • No ResponsesElection 2008 are a time of reflection for us, the whole of Pakistan. We should thank our lucky stars that nature has bestowed this opportunity upon us to once again exercise our right to cast our votes. Once again we are presented with a chance to express our say. In these turbulent times, when Pakistan needs peace and rest, elections are the best way to ensure that.
We must not take this grand opportunity for granted. We must not take this fact trivial that we have the freedom to elect our own government. We must not act light and numb, and we must stand up and go to poll our votes on the election day.
We have to reflect, ponder and then decide as who exactly we are, and what we want, and what are our priorities, and where we want to see ourselves after five years. We should remember the sacrifices of our forefathers and of the slain leaders. We should honour the blood of martyrs, and show our mettle on ballot.
These elections are a do or die for us. Never such a promising opportunity was endowed to us. We must not let this, perhaps last, opportunity going down the drain. Because if we do so, our hopes and dreams and future will also go away with it.
