The Pakistani Spectator

It is very unfortunate that we don’t show courage to appreciate good deeds of our politicians. We are reluctant to accept this reality that they are greater human beings than us. They have been blessed with the quality of forgiving their enemies not within months but within days, infect within hours.

I believe that we are the historians of a golden era of Pakistani politics. We have witnessed union of those people who were at daggers drawn. Should we not appreciate the great act of Musharraf who forgave a person open heartedly to whom he himself kept in prison for years? Not only he forgave him but in one sense, took all the blame on him for that “sheer misunderstanding”. Same year, we also saw Mr. Ten Percent turning into Zardari bhai.

Though it was not Eid day but Pakistani’z saw, with wonders in their eyes, calling two rivals of Pakistani politics behan bhai to each other. Do we have the courage to forgive our real brothers and sisters like this? Don’t overestimate yourself. We certainly don’t cherish this great trait of human personality. They played important role to topple each other’s government at the stake of the political stability of Pakistan. In their first address to nation on TV, they were always having a charge sheet with proofs against others. STILL they made each other brother and sister “for” nation. Can you deny this fact?

Another golden example!!!. They opened direct fire on each other. They did not let Karachiates to move freely on roads on 12^th May 2007 to show their “strength”. Both Sheri Rehman and Dr. Sattar were speaking to newsmen to show how innocent and “peaceful” they were and couple of days back Leader of MQM said “Meray Zardari bhai ko koi loog akhthay kar k dray ga tu main uss se ziada aksriat uss k hhuq main akhthi karon ga”. All Praise to Allah!!!… After having sent more than 50 Karachiates to graveyard, they are united now. What else is called greatness???

People who were not allowed to land in Punjab, are now the rulers of Punjab. Just after one year . Imagine!! How loyal they are to each other!!

Can we forget Murree Declaration where two “intimate” friends were sitting together and were assuring a good future to the nation?? Then how beautifully they did acting for “each other”, traveling… Dubai…. London … Lahore …Press conferences … It was not an easy task. It was a tiring mental exercise and then to make a call after each conference “paa jee sabb theek thaa naa.. kuch ghalat tu nahi monh se nikal gya” ..They tried to “convince” each other for nation, though they were very much convinced from inside. They even have forgiven Aitezaz Ahsan by saying “Subah ka bhola shaam ko ghar aa jaye tu usae bhola nahi kehtay ”

Do we still need more evidences to accept that our politicians are GREAT???
