No Operation in North Waziristan

(r) Junaid Zaman • Jul 3rd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 6 CommentsIt is a wise step indeed to assure the Wazirs and Mahsuds of the North Waziristan that there will be no operation in their areas. Baitullah Mahsud and his terrorists are operating in the South Waziristan and this is considered an epicenter of terrorism in the whole region. In the previous operation Baitullah slipped to the North Waziristan and many of his cronies crossed the border and went to Afghanistan.
Due to the negligence of the government, Baitullah and his terrorists once again established themselves in the South Waziristan. People of these areas have seen two military operations in the past, and they are very much apprehensive about this latest one. This time government needs to back their words with their actions, as empty words are not going to accomplish anything.
Military operation is not the ultimate solution. It could only be used to put the terrorists on the backfoot, but the only road to success goes through the people of Waziristan, especially from the Mahsud tribe. Government needs to take the elders of Mahsud tribe into confidence and establish its credibility and try hard to alienate the Baitullah from Mahsud tribe.
Lord Curzon, the British Viceroy of India said that “No patchwork scheme will settle the Waziristan problem. Not until the military steamroller has passed over the country from end to end will there be peace. But I don’t want to be the person to start that machine.”

These terrorist need not to be on any foot they must be killed sooner then later.Military is doing a very good job. Mr. Zaman you look like are working with Mehsud? Couple of days ago you said Mehsud is in Northern Waziristan now once again they are in South? make up your mind? Once retired why you still use your negligent army title? Or you still command a civilian Brigade?

Just keep carry on ur great brave struggle for independence from hinduvta based India. cracks are already appearin in india and sooner enough it will be divided into more than 15 independent states.People always say here that re-partition of India into 15 to 20 new nation countries is the best solution to problems of South Asia.
