No New 9/11

The option of negotiations with the Taliban is not bad, but they are useless with a very glaring and decisive prerequisite. The prerequisite of negotiations must be that Talibans should recognize and admit that there cannot be two parallel governments in the country, and then the negotiations should be held between the Pakistani government and the militants.

The sad thing is that there is no policy-formulating at the government level, and the will to resolve this seminal issue is no where to be seen. The government has proven itself to not up to the mark to deal with the challenge of militancy in the tribal region, and the affairs have reached up to such extent that Talibans are operating at free will;  killing the men of Frontier Constabulary, snatching arms from them, and conquering the forts of FC in the Hangu area.

The prime minister is more concerned about his upcoming visit to the United States, and he has started to utter ultra submissive statements and has advised to nation that we all should be more worried about the mainland America as a new 9/11 could happen there. And what about this country, which is ruled by the Makhdoom Sahib? Yes, we do want to see a safe America and a safe world, but we also want to see a safer Pakistan with peaceful borders.

This is the time when premier must declare some ambitions, and cancel his tour to America and reside in the Peshawar and monitor the situation himself.
