No Dignity in PML-Quashed
By Brig. (r) Junaid Zaman • Feb 23rd, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • No Responses •Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658) is known as the Lord Protector of England and when he died he corpe was dug up, chained and then beheaded. He dismissed the Rump Parliament in April 1653 by saying, ” You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”
We Pakistanis are not that brutal kind and besides this is not 17th century. We have asked Chaudhary Shujaat and his lotas to leave us in peace through our votes, and it is apparent that they don’t have even an ounce of dignity and have got a shameless never to say that they have got the popular vote.
Don’t they see the euphoria in Pakistan? Don’t they see how happy people are after getting rid of them thoroughly. The thing is that these have been the dynamics of Pakistani politics where the people do not go away with dignity, rather they have to be thrown out disgustingly. They don’t go in a ceremonious fashion, rather kicking and screaming.
And these lotas who comprise of rejected hoarders and profiteers won’t go with dignity.
