New Elections and Bangladeshi Model
By Sameer Shaharyar • Jun 28th, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,895 views) • One ResponseSo much for the change we voted for on 18th February earlier this year. With the ineligibility of Nawaz Sharif and the public efforts of destabilization of Shahbaz Sharif, the new government is already shaking under the immense pressure from the shenanigans attacking from within and from outside.
The decision to promulgate Governor Raj in Punjab has been finalized and now with the help of absurd legalese, Shahbaz Sharif would be declared ineligible for the Chief Minsiter, and Salman Taseer would implement Governor Raj, and that would mean a head-on collision between PPP and PML-N, and then it would be followed by unrest and troubled brief period of events in country and that would be a plausible plea to hold new elections, and then Pervez Musharraf would use 58(2)B with relish in the greater interest of the country.
Now the plan is to hold new and fresh election in November/December next year with new faces and in those elections there would be no Nawaz Sharif and no Asif Ali Zardari and most of the front line leadership of PPP and PML-N would be made to sit outside, or the would be exiled forcibly or would be put behind the bars. Even there is news of sending the leadership of PML-Q on the back benches.
Awami Muslim League of Sheikh Rashid has been hatched to insert yet another peg into the upcoming opposition. In the new Bangladeshi-Styled Pakistani government, the faces in the government and in the opposition would be the same, and both would work seamlessly under the stern supervision of President General(r) Pervez Musharraf with the full blessing of United States and other strong stakeholders.
