NATO Supplies Should Be Protected in Professional Manner

The recent attack on the NATO envoys in Islamabad should be an eye opener for such elements.
Attacks on NATO supply convoys and depots have become a routine. Gon totting people come, raid the convoyes or storm the depots, hurl grenades, carry on firing for hours, set the vehicles on fire, loot the weapons and then disappear, like they never were. In some cases, they also encounter police and in every case, manage to escape silkily.
At least five people were killed and six others sustained injuries when a group of militants attacked a convoy in the federal capital area that was ready to take supplies for Nato forces fighting in Afghanistan. Unidentified armed men opened fire at a convoy of over 30 vehicles including trailers carrying supplies and vehicles and tankers carrying oil for the Nato forces in Afghanistan near Sang Jani, a few kilometres short of Taxila on the Grand Trunk (GT) Road at around mid-night and then all the assailants escaped. In Peshawar such incidents have occurred in past and now has happened in Islamabad.
When we have declared ourselves an ally in this war against terror and reiterate every now and then that we are supporting Americans in this war, then its our duty to protect the supplies of NATO. We should be honest and leave the double standards.

NATO supplies should be destroyed in a professional manner. Why leave it up to small bands of gun toting militants? We should destroy them ourselves and save our own lives and property in the process!
NATO forces are on a peace-keeping mission in Afghanistan. Because Pakistan is the shortest way to be used for this and it is also an ally in this war on terror, that’s why most of NATO supplies pass from here. It thus becomes imperative that we provide high professional security to these people because they are the prime targets of these terrorists.
A very pertinent point being raised here, the safety of NATO supplies is indeed our responsibility as they pass through our territory, as smooth flow of the supplies is needed so that the counter insurgency operations do not suffer.
When we don’t receive the funds for providing such security, why should we protect such convoy’s? These tanks, oil etc are meant to kill fellow innocent muslims in afghanistan. When israel can kill innocent civilians taking aid to Gaza then why can’t Nato aid or US fuel be destroyed as it does not harm anyone’s life. While they can pay Greece 142 Billion Dollars and spend trillions on Afghanistan, they want to have a carrot & stick approach towards Pakistan.

On one hand show or just pretend you are Great Ally with Americans in War Against Terror but on other hand if Americans are not ready to resolve Indian Occupied Kashmir then keep continue good cordial relations with the high command of Taliban/Alqaida. Don’t loose their ISI Secretive Friendship until & unless Indian Occupied Kashmir is resolved.

Every state is held responsible for the actions of it subjects and it is no secret that the strings of every other major terrorist ploy can be traced back to Pakistan. Thus we are indeed the breeding ground of terrorism, so is the U.S support to Pakistan only a western interest? Most certainly not as we are the actual beneficiaries. Incidents of this nature hamper the cordial relations between U.S and Pakistan, it is vital that we step up our efforts to eradicate religious extremism from our society.
