Musharraf’s Lies Unfolding
By Sameer Shaharyar • Jun 5th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 4 Comments •As if we didn’t know about this characteristic of our tinpot dictator. He lied about laying off the uniform, and he lied about the accepting the verdict of the nation. He said that he would quit if people would want him to quit and the defeat of his brainchild PML-Q would be tantamount to his defeat. “In the Line of Fire”, the idiotic book of Musharraf is just a pack of bloody lies.
He lied with the innocent girls of Jamia Hafsa and its administration and killed them mercilessly with phosphorous. He lied that Collin Powell had said to him that if Pakistan didn’t bow in front of US, then she would make a Tora Bora out of Pakistan. He lied about 17th amendment to the MMA, and he lied about the Kargil Issue. He lied about the so-called economic boom, and he lied about the promised good governance. The list goes on…
Every successive dictator in Pakistan has lied and has exploited the miserable nation to strengthen its rule and to enjoy the power. Musharraf has followed the same route with the distinction that he hasn’t stopped yet and wants to carry on with it. This time the people of Pakistan should also change this trend once and for all. This time, they shouldn’t be giving the dictator a safe passage.
Musharraf should be punished severely publicly. He should be tried for treason. Lt-Gen (retd) Jamshed Gulzar Kiani and the ex service men like him are the proof that our brave Army disown this man in the President House, who has left no stone unturned to tarnish the image of Army. But Army should take initiative and stop their top man from grabbing the National Throttle by force.

If Musharraf was a dictator, you could not be writing so freely, Stupid man.
Someone should ask these generals who spent their lives in enjoyng perks, incentives and priveleges and could not dare to speak a word in support of Kashmiris freedom struggle bur that only Musharraf who took such a big step initiating Kargil War.
These generals has never done anything good for the country in their lives but now after the retirement they are dying hard to harm Pakistan just in the jealousy of one person who is more competent, sincere, dedicated and loving to his country.
Look this stupid Kiyani how he tried to ignite the issue of Lal mosque by false claim of using chemical weapons during Lal mosque operation. Can any logical and sincere Pakistan acknowldge his views with sincerety to the country.
Believe me, if any new suicide attack ever happen in Pakistan in the name of Lal mosque this scoundrel and his masters (who paid him the money ) will be hold responsible
These retired general must read and understan what Salman Taseer has said about them today and if they have a little shame left in their eyes they must stay at home and pray ‘ISTAKHFAR’ for their sins.
Was Musharraf started that war for himself or for Pakistan? What benefits has he achieved by this war? According to that mean Kiyani (Retired General ), ‘we have caught India from the jugular vein in Kargil war’ but Alas! Our own people are disgracing and humiliating Musharraf. This is the character of our retd. generals. These are the lions of the paper and tongues.
What Musharraf did in case of Lal mosque (which was not a mosque at the time of operation because of full scale combat from both sides) was for his own benefit or for the country and nation’s benefit.
If there was no operation on Lal mosque believe every small or big mosque has turned out to be Lal mosque by now
I think only stupids on this blog will agree that what jahil mullahs of Lal mosque (who had never learnt social sciences or international politics or foreign policy of the country) were doing the right things even if one sees them from religious point of view.
Burning of environmental ministry building, kidnapping of Chinese citzens, illegal occupation of govt. land for extension of Jamia Hafsa, occupation of children’s library and roaming around with guns around Islamabad. Where is all this in Islam?
About operation in FATA, I will repeat the same thing.
“The best thing in the interest of Pakistan is not to interfere in any country’s internal affairs officially or unofficially, remove all the foreigners from the area or get them registered with the govt. agency.
Destroy all the training camps from these areas and let allow the Pakistani law prevail everywhere in Pakistan.
That’s what Musharraf trying to do and there is nothing wrong in it but STUPIDS takes this simple message on to their nerves and ready to kill their own people and own army, for the sake of others.’
And the worst thing is some ignorant people are misleading people on this simple issue.
A person who was harming to the country and the country’s interest must be missing. That’s the least punishment he must get. I have no one in my family, freinds, local community or in far flung relatives anybody missing. Why? its easy to understand for anyone.
Former Pakistan Air Force and Pak Navy chiefs of the Kargil era, Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Pervez Mehdi Qureshi and Admiral (Retired) Fasih Bukhari, have demanded a commission of inquiry to probe the Kargil operation and have agreed to appear before it to give their version of the events surrounding the Kargil episode.
They have revealed that the air force and the navy were not on board when the operation was planned but they declined to divulge other details about it in public.
Air Chief Marshal Qureshi, who is known as PQ Mehdi, while talking to The News on Saturday evening said that the whole world knew that the Pakistan Air Force was not on board when the Kargil operation was being deliberated. “The whole nation is aware of what had happened in Kargil since on the initiation of the action. Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee accused his counterpart in Pakistan Nawaz Sharif of stabbing him in the back. My statement will make no difference about the facts.”
He said the government should order an inquiry into the events of Kargil and everyone who was relevant would turn up with his version. Nobody can say no to such a commission, he added.
He disclosed that the events, which transpired during the days of Kargil, were preserved in the record of the PAF like other forces. “In case I am not in this world tomorrow, the whole record will be available for ascertaining the facts,” the former chief of the Pakistan Air Force said. He said that it was a serious matter and it must be taken with utter seriousness as it was linked with the future of the country and generations to follow.
Interestingly, Pakistan Air Force was not put into operation to counter the Indian Air Force due to strategic reasons. However, a PAF air defence unit shot down an Indian Air Force MiG-27 on May 27, 1999 that entered the Pakistan airspace. Pakistan also shot down another MiG-21, which had come into the area in search of the earlier downed pilot. Pakistan told the world with incontrovertible evidence that these two aircraft had violated the Line of Control (LoC) and entered seven miles into the Pakistan airspace before being shot down by PAF air defence and Pakistan Army surface-to-air missiles (SAM). The Indians claimed that they were in the Indian territory and that the aircraft were shot down by Stinger missiles.
The MiG-27 pilot, Flt. Lt. Nachiketa, ejected and he was captured by Pakistan ground forces as a POW. He was returned to India later when the then Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee pleaded for his release after cessation of hostilities. Four Indian Air Force personnel were killed on May 28 the same year when an MI-17 chopper was shot down by a Pakistan air defence unit.
Air Chief Marshal Pervez Mehdi Qureshi led the PAF from November 7, 1997 to November 20, 2000.
The former naval chief, Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bukhari, said to a question that he would be prepared to appear before an inquiry commission that would be formed by the government of the day. Such a commission could unearth the whole truth about the matter, he said.
The former naval chief, Admiral (Retired) Fasih Bukhari, became the naval chief on May 2, 1997 and relinquished the command on October 2, 1999, ten days ahead of the coup by his colleague in the Army General Pervez Musharraf against the elected government of Nawaz Sharif.
Admiral Bukhari was the first who disclosed immediately after his retirement that Pakistan Navy was not taken into confidence about the Kargil operation at any stage and it did not make any preparations for any huge eventualities. Since then, he has kept quiet about it.
“I have been maintaining silence about the subject. If the commission constituted by the government calls me for evidence, I will put across my point of view before it with each and every detail concerning the episode,” he said. “I am a military-man and I will not share with the media my experiences in the force since I am under oath,” he added. “But I will not be reluctant to say anything before the commission if I am called.”

Keep in mind, PAF and NAVY not took part in this adventure and it was main issue who bring differences between PAF and ARMY and still exists.
Musharraf is an asset to Pakistan. We have proved ourselves a failed nation to the world by bringing back the corrupts and criminals in the power game to suck the remaining of what Pakistan achieved in Musharraf era. See the following news article… Musharraf is standing in the category of a former US President. I am unable to understand what has happened to our nation.. why there is so much hate and revenge.. why we cannot forgive and move on? May Allah save our Country! Ammen.
ISLAMABAD: A leading international public relations firm says that former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf can expect US dollar 200,000 per lecture.
If former President, whose political career has virtually been written-off, takes a cue from previous White House occupant Bill Clinton, he could earn mega moolah.
The beleaguered leader is on the threshold of making big bucks through his oratory skills with an international public relations firm saying that he could get between USD 150,000 and USD 200,000 a day for his speeches and lectures.
That would put him in the category of former US President Bill Clinton who attracts top fee for speaking engagements.
In a report in its upcoming issue, the Newsweek says that when the 65-year old former Pakistani army chief goes on an expected pilgrimage to Mecca in the next few days, he may continue travelling on a lucrative speaking tour across the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
Chicago-based Embark LLC, the report says, is just one of the international public relations firms trying to enroll Musharraf as a highly paid keynote speaker.
It quoted public relations executives as saying the articulate and brash 44-year army veteran’s earnings could approach that of Clinton, who famously snubbed him during a lightning visit to Islamabad eight years ago.
“The [speaking] fee for Musharraf would be in the range of USD 150,000-200,000 a day plus jet and other VIP arrangements on the ground,” Embark President David B Wheeler said.
Wheeler was quoted as saying Clinton, for whom Embark has arranged speaking engagements in the Middle East, commands up to USD 250,000 per appearance.
“If we did multiple events in multiple cities, Musharraf could get closer to the USD 500,000 to USD 1,000,000 range [for a series of talks],” Wheeler told the Newsweek.
Embark, which promises “unique experiences that educate, entertain and enlighten,” has also booked speeches for former US President George H W Bush and former American Secretary of State Colin Powell, the Newsweek said.
Pakistanis were quoted as saying that this is good news for the former President, who is not believed to have salted away a fortune as some of his predecessors have done.
Musharraf will only receive a modest army retirement pension, the report said but added that he is a long way from the poor house. His USD 2 million mansion on five acres of prime land just outside Islamabad is getting the finishing touch, the magazine reported.
Since his resignation he has been playing golf and tennis with friends, and is also planning to write a sequel to his successful 2006 autobiography, “In the Line of Fire,” which could easily net him another seven-figure windfall, it added.
