Musharraf’s Good Faith
By Gul Raiz • May 22nd, 2008 • Category: Politics • 10 Comments •Just keep aside all the grudge against President Musharraf and think about his resolve and his passion for the country. Political parties like PML-N, Jamat-e-Islami, Tehrik-e-Insaf and some nationalist parties are doing nothing but lashing at Musharraf day in and day out.
Media have also nothing else to do. Pick any program and you would find all kinds of tablets presenting the cure for the Musharraf. Every anchorperson at every channel seems to be obsessed with the ouster of Pervez Musharraf, and every evening they paint the same scenario of the deposition of judges, and the boogie of Musharraf.
Same is the case of lawyers, who have nothing else to do too. All these lawyers haven’t fought a case in their lives, and those who have are just cashing in on for their own political vested interests. They are sabotaging the peace and harmony in the country and are hell bent on destroying the institutions.
But look at Pervez Musharraf, he is still worried about the present and future of Pakistan. He is thinking above his person, and he is still suggesting gravely to the new government that they should pay immediate attention towards the declining investment in the country. Pervez Musharraf is also suggesting some really pragmatic solutions to the war on terror problems, about which PPP government doesn’t have any clue. PPP wants to satisfy the US officials, but they don’t know how to save the interests of Pakistan too at the same time.
Musharraf has got a knack of facilitating the interests of Pakistan along with appeasing the aspirations of the world community. Musharraf knows that the interests of Pakistan are paramount, but Pakistan cannot survive alone in the world.

WOPNDERFUL!
IS IT YOU GUL RAIZ?
I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
Media is driven by their own selfish interests and that is profit maximization. A good marketeer must find a demand or in its absence create a demand. They developed a product which they named ”Musharraf the bad guy”, then all they are doing is demonising him, packaging and repackaging him in all colours and shades of their choice and bad taste. They sensationalize non-issues and while keep people’s mind engaged and confused, sneek a few adverts in between - this is called subliminal cut - check this out, you will be amazed how we are being manipulated. They along with the failed frustrated politicians appear to, unfortunately, be working on the strategy to create a sense of chaos - and they know it very well that what they are involved in is deception. They pretenders of serving our national purpose; they are guilty of doing greatest disservice to Pakistan and Pakistani nation. Shame! Shame! Shame!
We are witnessing a grand era of Musharraf-bashing. The media and every other frustrated soul in this country is cherishing it. At times I feel Hitler was a small-timer compared to Mushy! How convenient it is for our compatriots to ignore whatever development that took place in our country over the nine-odd year period. The man has erred, no doubt. Yes, inflation was not kept in-check and no significant step was taken to overcome power shortage, amongst other things. He did what he should not have. Yet, if I HAD to choose between 2 periods-each of the Sharif-Bhutto rules, I would choose Musharraf – the dictator!
We have very conveniently forgotten the extrajudicial killings of their eras, the mass corruption, extortion of Mr. Ten Percent, and very importantly the attack on the supreme court of the Land of the Pure.
It is Mr. Musharraf’s complacency and over-confidence that has put him in this tight spot. You pay for the mistakes you make. But, my own humble opinion is that over current rulers are no saints either. They make act benevolent, ditch a few ministries, but are they concentrating on the country or Musharraf? If Musharraf remains the bone of contention, he should leave himself – in the national interest!
At present all information in the media is Musharraf-specific. All conspiracies are being hatched by Musharraf, and facilitated by ‘Eagle’ Quraishi. Man, Hitler was small!
To keep your mind and body sufficiently fresh, please do not watch our news channels!

Right on!

Totally Agree. The electronic media should be thankful to Musharraf for allowing a liberal policy when it came to the private channels. I believe that the Private News Channels played a role of the largest opposition group against Musharraf and inflicted more damage to him than any political party or so-called civil societies/lawyers group.
Kheshgi Says: “I believe that the Private News Channels played a role of the largest opposition group against Musharraf and inflicted more damage to him than any political party or so-called civil societies/lawyers group”. On the dot.
Above all, the media anchor persons may be heard saying that they got freedom due to their struggle! In the days they were issued licenses, they did not have the courage to speak-out the way they do today (which in anyway is immature and amateur-ish, just read the online THE NEWS; spelling mistakes galore, urdu directly translated to English!). Ironically, the man in uniform allowed this.
Our media has proven that there are no permanent friends or foes. People, and more specifically the media people, have forgotten what treatment was meted out Mr. Najam Sethi by the Amir-ul-Momineen! This is just one case I remember.
This illicit and immoral circus will go on. May the Almighty guided us to strengthen our nation - that should be our one and only objective. The nation should not be held hostage to one person, nor the whims & hypocrisy of a few.
And, ‘reformed democrats’: beware, looters are being treated inhumanly these days!
One question though: These lawyers who are not attending courts in protest, how are they surviving financially? Are all well-to-do?!
Just to freshen your memory - The News (Mir Jameel Ur Rehman / Maleeha Lodhi); Husain Haqqani; The Frontier Post (Chief editor Afridi framed in smuggling all cooked up charges to get even). And of course, the tragedy of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (gross contempt in the face of the court) and its Honourable Chief Justice Syed Sajjad Ali Shah (forced to run from his chair to save his life - while hearing a corruption case against the the PM Nawaz Sharif); blatant state terrorism let loose against the MQM in Karachi.
And they called it democracy - man one can dupe people sometimes but not all the time!
Are you people living in Pakistan?
Give me rule of law or give me death !!!!
DISCLAIMER: These are the thoughts and expressions of one person only. They, in no way, depict the combined thoughts of the Pakistani nation.
Mr. Gul Raiz, even though I respect your point but I haven’t forgotten the daughters of the nation brutally murdered in Jamia Hafsa. No other arguments.
