Mourn the Leaders, Zombies
By Sameer Shaharyar • Jul 14th, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,633 views) • No ResponsesSince assuming power after 18th February, Asif Ali Zardari has spent 38 days outside of Pakistan, while Mian Nawaz Sharif has spent 21 days and they are still out, doing God knows what.
While the NATO forces are gathering their might up on our western borders, and in short bursts they are showing their evil intents, there is no change in the conduct of the political leadership. Angoor Adda, which is about 25 kilometers west of Wana, often comes under attacks by the US and Afghan troops from the Paktika province. Eleven people, including nine Pakistani soldiers and two tribesmen, were injured when two Nato warplanes bombed Pakistan’s Angoor Adda town, a border village on the Pak-Afghan border in South Waziristan.
Almost all the telephone exchanges in the Waziristan area have been jammed, and low flights by the Predator drones of United States are being carried out every after one hour. Pakistan’s foreign office is meekly protesting over the attacks and the un-welcomed flights, while foreign minister is in Washington licking the sandals of Condoleeza Rice, and getting assurances from the masters that they would give some respect to the prime minister of the favorite lackey in the war on terror.
Rudderless country is at the behest of the wolves, and people are still in the comatose trance, while they mechanically fight for the flour, CNG, water, and electricity.
