Mixed Feelings

It is the first time in the history of this land of pure, which we call as Pakistan, that two arch-rival parties have decided to go hand in hand and share power in a transparent and congenial way.

When the 13th assembly of this country took oath, the aura was very much different from the past, and there was an air of hope and change. There was a general feeling of hope in the parliament that the PPP-PMLN may have learnt their lessons and they would not repeat the blunders of the past, or that is what their leaders and the elected members said after taking the oath from Chaudhary Amir Hussain, the outgoing speaker of national assembly, who himself ate burning coals when he took oath from Firdaus Ashiq Awan, the lady who defeated him in the general elections from Sialkot.

Nation has lots of hopes with this new assembly, and this assembly has to deliver and deliver fast. Nation expects them to stay together to deliver on the issue of the judiciary, the president and economic stability and also it would do a lots of good to the country that the leaders of both sides would evolve a consensus among political parties of all shades to deal with the ever increasing terrorism and formulate policy about the US war on terrorism, which has now become the Pakistan’s war.

  1. Will they come true?

  2. Wll, the PPP-PMLN could have learnt their lessons and not repeat the blunders of the past. One would wish. But they have not. They still have those 4 times tried and rejected people at the top of their parties. If this is all what they have then it is foolish to expect anything better this time either. We will have to wait another while for betr things to happen

  3. Only time will tell what is in store for this land of the pure ! Owned and Operated time and again by the Bhutto and Sharif Dynasties.

Yes, Nation has lots of hopes with this new assembly, but can this Combination deliver and deliver fast. In a situation where personal vandetta of the issue of the judiciary, the president comes before the problems of the 16 Croe Awam ?

It would do a lots of good to the country if both sides would evolve a consensus ? When they cant even decide on a PM… I will tell you .. they want to keep it in the Family and are looking for a puppet to fill the slot temporarily. God Save Pakistan .. Aameen

  4. What ever this assembly will do…. that will be not as worst as last government did with us. I assure you this thing.

  5. What did the last government do? That it spared its arch rivals at the time when you all were prepared / actually demanding for heads to roll. That it brought the country back from almost bankcorruptcy. That it managed the public finance reasonably well. That it has managed to bring country’s foreign exchange reserves some where close to $15Billion when. What is wrong why this amnesia.
