Minus - Plus Politics
By Maria Sultan • Nov 29th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsThese days Islamabad is buzzing animatedely with the new theories and rumors about a new governing setup. The most debated one and the most popular is that a broad based government will be formed, which will be headed by Imran Khan, the supremo of Justice movement.
But that’s seems preposterous, as Imran is a proven failure in the game of politics and Imran is just made for the arm chair strategist and whiner in the T.V talkshows, besides he he has even failed to mobilize his own party throughout the country. Imran is arrogant and self-praising playboy who considers everyone else a inferior, and also he has made so much tall claims against America, military and establishment that he is unlikely to be approved by all parties.
Presently, after the hubbub of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), the departure of the present regimeĀ is being fiercely debated in the media and in this heat it is being forgotten that political differences are boiling into personal attacks that is not conducive for peace and harmony in the country.
This is the most fertile and conducive playground for the turncoats who thrive in such chaos. They are sensing and smelling a new coup or new interim setup to get levers of powers once again. This could damage the institution of democracy in the coming weeks.

The UNELECTED and socalled RULING ELITE of PAKISTAN have won by clipping the wings of ELECTED PRESIDENT of the country.
NUCLEAR COMMAND AUTHORITY is now vested in the hands of PM gillani alone Zardari is out of NCA. Imran Khan, Gen Hamid Gul and also Army brass have played their part in this constitutional coup.
I had the chance to read Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) research paper about economic restructuring of Pakistan and it was disappointing. Imran Khan is a zealot socilist, he is in favor of nationalization and is against the market economy. This doesn’t bode well with the businesses and markets. We have done the experiment of nationalization once before and it resulted in immense corruption. We can not keep experimenting with Pakistan. We moved from market economy to socialism in Bhutto’s time to market economy and if PTI came into power socialism again. Nationalization is like adding fuel to the corruption in the public sector. Privatisation is not the problem but regulating the privatisation is the way forward. Organizations like PIA, railways, WAPDA, Steel Mills are contributing billions in losses, not to mention the corruption it contrbutes to.
maria is spot on…
but the excutive needs to show the capacity to find effective counter to all the media frenzy against them. they let issues fester and then are unable to explain themselves in the media.
AA’s explaination on resortation of CJ only came to general light after his recent interview on Express TV. That interview showed how PMLN was able hijack the whole CJ issue by timing the long march.
