Mind Blowing 100 Days
By Sameer Shaharyar • Jul 4th, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,159 views) • 5 CommentsYeah not only the mind, but everything has blown and though Asif Ali Zardari doesn’t like the count up or count down, the bad news is that the promised golden 100 days of Pakistan People’s Party government haven’t ended yet.
The prices of petroleum products have been increased again. The prices of natural gas has been raised to 31 percent. Power prices are skyrocketing. The prices of food items have gone through the roof. It’s true that now there is no shortage of flour, water or food items, and the reason for that miracle is that there is no buyer in the market and people can only see these items wistfully.
So much for the relief program of the new government.
The prices of petrol and diesel have been raised to ten percent, and the furnace oil has been raised to 30 percent, and the government is still telling us the stories of crimes of the past. Information Minister Sherry Rehman with her glossy cosmetics doesn’t get tired of telling us that her government has inherited these economical problems and it would take some time to resolve them, and rest assured that that some time is not going to be come before the promised 100 days.
World is busy in creating Silicon Valleys and trying to probe the cores of distant stars, while here we are thinking “Light Kub Aay Gi.”

These hundreds days are helping us a lot to come to our heritage of stone age.if some how our incapable govt could control security problems than western tourists should be flooded here to see that how Pakistanis are living in 21st century.Use of hand fans, hand driven water pumps are being popular here.People are waiting for hours for water supply.Sooner cowdunks would be sold as bio fuel as the substitute of gas.People are thinking of keeping a cow, hens and a horse or donkey cart at home so that dependcy on grocery store could be overcome by domestic effort.here the tourist would be amazed to see the combination of life styles between 21st and 2 nd century .People are sitting on carts or using hand fans but another hand would be holding latest mobile phone. Some people might coming out from long queue of flour and sit in latest BMW and mercedez .It must be unique nuclear power that remain in darkness for most of time and people are urging to adopt UPS system for their survival.People are dying on streets due to abscence of basic health facility and modern F16s are landing here for haunting our enemies..So really our rulers are trying hard and their best to keep this stone age heritage.

The present Pakistani government is noway responsible for RISE of crude prices in international market. As you are importing you have to pay the price. Mismanagment of electricity companies are the responsbility of old regimes. It is like blaming the present regime for Jehadi culture. Democracy moves slowly infact very slowly
