Media is Encouraging Terrorism and Violence
By Rohail Butt • Nov 27th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 2 Comments •A small blast occurred at the Imam Bargah in Peshawar and 4 people were injured slightly and there was petty property loss. When I switched on the television, all the electronic private channels including GEO, ARYONEWORLD, AAJ, HUM, Waqt, Express, Samaa and others were projecting that as all hell was broke loose in Peshawar and the whole city was under siege. These channels were showing footages of broken mirrors, cracks in the walls and the blood-soaked dress of a man, who was shocked at the flashing cameras.
These channels kept on repeating the same footages for over an hour. They showed the internal of Imam Bargah and it’s natural that any Muslim would be saddened by the blast and especially the Shiite Muslims would be outraged. It seemed that media was hell bent on showing the footages until the people came out on the roads and start violence.
That is the character of our unbridled, immature, irresponsible and un-ethical private channels. They must be controlled by the government.

Dear, we should not always put every thing on Government like it should be controlled by government etc etc. Let them to work and soon you will find that some one will grab the opportunity created by the problems we are facing from Media now a days. “Problem always come with new opportunities, it is just a matter of grabbing it”.
I see that few Indian channels were doing same kind of hype but for social stories. Then a space was created because people got sick of those news channels. NDTV came up with the solution and now their viewers are switching to NDTV 24X7. I even like that channel because it gives always Live News and Live Discussion programs.
Just wait and soon you will find a new group with all viewers solutions.
Waisay, tell me openly… Is our nation not addicted of spicy news and politics? Apart from their criticism on Media and Politics, they still want fights in Assemblies, on roads, blasts etc etc for discussions and arguments.
That’s what I am sying for a long time that these channels (geo,ary, aaj atc etc) are playing in the hands of the enemies of Pakistan. They must be banned forever in the interests of the country.
