Max Exodus From FATA
By Brig. (r) Junaid Zaman • Aug 17th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses •Security forces have increased their operation in the FATA and Swat region, and the fight between Talibans and the security forces have risen to a new level, where security forces have become successful in pushing the Talibans back and depriving them of their leadership.
The migration of people from Bajour Agency and Mehmund Agency has gain momentum and .25 million people have migrated towards Peshawar, Mardan, Dir and Shabqadar areas of NWFP. Still thousands of people are standing on the bus stops of Charsada and Dir waiting to be located somewhere. These people are accompanied by their ladies and children and the ladies who never in their life came out of their homes without any extreme necessity are now living under the open sky without any shelter.
The anger and misery of the people is on high increase and the migration of people from the affected areas kept going on even on the independence day, when the rest of the nation was one-wheeling on the roads, and was celebrating “Jashan-e-Azadi.” There is no notice of government so far, and the credit has to be given to the Al-Khidmat foundation, who are the sole help providers to these immigrants. These immigrants would soon start spilling over in the Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and perhaps than government would start taking notice.
