It’s a scary scene when a peaceful and serene hills like Margalla hills have become a unstoppable flame-spitting monster. The fire which erupted in the evening have engulfed a large area and its’ spreading rapidly. It’s tearing through the bushes and small trees and looks very threatening.

This is not the first fire on Margalla hills, rather it has become a routine. People come for picnic and then carelessly throw a cigarette or match stick in the bushes resulting in a terrible loss of nature. Some miscreants also do it just for fun or for timber.

Authorities, no matter how hard they try, can control this. Only a mass awareness campaign can do this. This awareness campaign should tell the hazards of this to the people through print and electronic media. People should enjoy picnic but not at the cost of burning the whole hills like hell.
