No wonder why an army chief gets to keep a stick with him as an accessory of designation and each predecessor passes on the same to the incoming.

The politicans of this country havent matured after all the millitary rules and interventions and it is this stick or "danda" that forces them to keep their pants on rather than being smacked all over partially naked. Not that millitary rulers too are disposed off using this very stick of the incoming CHief.

lol.

I cannot agree with Sidra more.

Gen. Pervez Musharraf's era was a blessing to Pakistan. Everybody makes mistakes and he too made some. But I give him full credit for his vision.

Compare the economic and social developments of his period with the preceding 52 years and you will get the answer.

Politically naive, he had to depend on the available lot. He dragged Pakistan out of economic disaster, handled the geopolitical situation amicably, established democracy in its true spirit by empowering the masses and women, promoted a culture of religious moderation, developed friendly relations with neighbours and improved the image of Pakistan in the world community

More democratic than any of the present political leadership he has all the qualities of a great leader.
His honesty and integrity, dicipline, vision, wit, courage, decision making and hard work makes him an ideal person for the top slot. Nine years of political exposure, understanding of worldly affairs at highest level, dealing with financial matters and confronting with terrorist groups has helped evolved a high profile commando into a great leader who can act as Mesiah to this beleagured nation.

EDUCATION and ECONOMY has always been the measures of progress and it will always be. the great Gen. Musharraf brought both these blessings to the people of Pakistan.

take any country u think is developed, both their education and economy will be strong. any one who has doubts in the economy and education of pakistan in the musharraf era can ask for details.. .

education and economy both progressed in his era, implies that he really progressed this country in truest sense.

i always wonder that how poeple boost of their intellicts. sometimes it looks very funny when the democracy preachers and followers behave childish.

many (great) analysts :) here are celebrating teh restoration of CJ iftikhar, but we forget that who is he???

He was the very first man who " LABBAIK " on musharraf political drama. then on some personal differences that man ( CJ ) started speaking against him. many small issues were fabricated as it has always been here in this GREAT DEMOCRACY and at last the the humble but stupid people of pakistan were deceived by their " crook" politician and the great general was forced to leave.

i have no political affiliation but if we put aside all our political/personal interests then certainly that great general will look the best.

i understand what i am going to say is not related to the topic but i am forced to mention these facts in support of my arguments for my great leader..

well,

What next for Pakistan?
Do it Now
So what was the name of the game?
Whatever it was, the political Game results shows; it was about political show down, between ruling and opposition parties. Nawaz Sharif & brothers and allied political parties as on front lost miserably, left behind in middle of no where, Zardari wins in a tricky, foul move promise to reinstate a sacked supreme court justice, very interesting, CJ is a beneficiary, out of a struggle aimed to bring Justice, rule of law & order, and to install a functional, practical, fair political system and institutions, constitution to govern in Pakistan, absolutely nothing is achieved so far.
Us envoy Mr. Holbrooke said, and hoped it right
"Defuse a dangerous confrontation" I add until resolved.
